Non-clogging process pumps,
Back pull-out design
wore designed and developed to meet the need sewage and effluent disposal and clarification
undertakings, of the chemical and iron and steel industries, and of the paper, sugar and canned food
industries
They combine the advantages of the non-clogging impeller centrifugal pump
‘centrifugal pump in back pullout design, the maintenance of which is greatly simplified.
those of the
What can you pump with a CNP?
Industrial waste water: Conveyance of industrial waste water, including waste water which
‘cannot be passed through a screen and untreated waste water, water
mechanically purified in 2 sedimentation basin, activated sludge,
putrid mud and rain water.
‘Aluminium industry: Conveyance of aluminate solutions, dross of bauxite.
Civil engineering: Drainage of muddy water, conveyance of paving asphalt, mixture of
‘cement and water.
Mining industry: Pumping and drainage of mixture of solids (lime, ore, silt) and water.
Chemical industry Pumping of chemically corrosive or abrasive substances; pumping of
‘chemical drainage and medium containing coarse mixtures, which
cannot be handled by normal type centrifugal pumps.
Kali industry: Conveyance of brine and lye.
Food industry: Conveyance of thick soup, mixture of com and water, garbage of
fruit and potato.
Paper industry: Conveyance of pulp liquids with a pulp concentration of not more
than 3% bone dry, material water, cellulose,
Sugar industry Conveyance of all kinds of drainage, including muddy liquids, milk of
lime, mud-like water, flushing water, etc.
Features of CNP are as follows
Back pull-out system is employed to facilitate maintenance operations.
CNP js so designed as to attain a higher efficiency and adequate NPSH.
3. For @ wider selection of the pumps, various structures and impellers most suitable for particular
liquids are available.
4, Importance is attached to standardization and interchangeability and an increased number of parts
that can be used in common with Torishima Chemical Pump Type CPC, thereby contributing to a
decrease in repair parts for maintenance.
Scope of specifications
Sizes 50 mm to 200 mm (2” to 8")
Total heads ~100 m
Capacities ~700 m? fh (11.6 m?/min)
Operating pressure -30°C~120°C ..... up to 10 kaffem?G
below 180°C... .. up to 8 kaf/em?G
below 250°C . up to 6 kgf/cm’
Temperature 30° C~250°C (22°F ~485°F)Impeller and applications
‘Two-vane impeller (z-impeller)
Three-vane impeller (d-impeller)
‘These impellers are used for handling those dirty liquids falling
within the limits of hydraulic pumping possibility and liquids
containing solid matters (maximum dimension of the diagonal
line of a solid matter is up to 97mm), and also mud-like fluids
no gas. There must not be any long fibrous mixtures
resembling hair in liquids. In case of handling pulp, these
impellers can be used for the fibres with concentration of not
more than about 3% bone dry depending upon the nature of
fibres.
For slightly contaminated fluids, e.g. sugar juices, clarified or
mechanically filtered sewage and effluent, screen water, pulp
water and stock suspensions not containing air, up to 1% bone
dry (nominal size of suction nozzle must be at least 100 mm)
‘and up to 1.5% bone dry (nominal size of suction nozzle must
be at least 125 mm).
Open multi-vane impeller (0-impeller)
This impeller is used for the same application as n-impeller,
the exception of airentrapped liquids, such as drainage
Which does not contain the strained lees of a sugar cane and
pulp suspension up to 3% bone dry, and it can also be applied
to higher concentration depending upon the nature of pulp
handled.
Open single-vane impeller (i-impeller)
This impeller is suitable for liquids containing large solids,
‘things liable to twist are present, such as hard paper, rag, rope,
‘tc., untreated sewage, sludge in sewage treatment plant, soup
containing the strained lees of a sugar cane, etc.
Free-flow impeller (f-impeller)
‘This impeller is suitably applied to liquids containing large
amount of trapped air or gas (sludge and pulp suspension with
up to 3% bone dry so depending upon the kind of fibres)
‘There will be no trouble if large solids liable to twist or twine
are present in these liquids.Structure
Cast ‘The delivery and suction nozzles are cast on the casing as an integral part,
permitting axial suction and vertical upward delivery.
‘Another advantage is that the back pull out system enables the pump to be
dismantled by the use of a spacer coupling without removing the main
pipelines and motor.
Bearing: For the bearings is employed oikbath lubrication system, and a constant
level oiler is used to maintain the constant ol level at all times.
In case of open impellers, axially adjustable bearing assembly should be
used in order to facilitate resetting of the clearance gap between the
impeller and the wear plate.
Shaft: Since the shaft of this pump is constructed not to be in contact with
‘pumping liquids, carbon steel with good mechanical properties is used as a
standard material,
‘Shaft seals: For shaft seals is employed gland packing system or mechanical seal
system. For mechanical seals, Torishima Mechanical Seals are available on
request, that have been developed by our unique technical achievements.
Wearing parts: “The wearing parts are equipped with wear plate, suction ring, impeller ring,
impeller with front vanes, etc. according to the liquids handled, and the
clearance gap of the wearing parts of the mouth ring section are so
constructed as to be tapered or radial. Thus CNP is designed for ready
‘adaptation to any types of liquid in conjunction with the impellers described
above.
Spacer pipe: It is also made possible to have the pump so constructed a6 to permit easy
removal of any obstacles at the impeller inlet by installing the special
accessory spacer pipe provided with @ large cleaning hole.
