Applications are invited for DBT Supported M.Sc. Biotechnology
through GAT-B in
Department of Microbiology & Biotechnology
at IIS (deemed to be University), Jaipur
For Admission in the Academic Session 2023-2024
Application process for admitting students to the M.Sc. in Biotechnology will be as per DBT
guidelines and female students only will be selected based on GAT-B scores. For more details

Eligibility criteria
IIS (deemed to be University), Jaipur will admit only the women students who have qualified
GAT-B National level entrance exam conducted by DBT.
Students need to have bachelor’s degree in any branch of Life Sciences or any Allied Science
subjects with at least 50% marks (or equivalent grade) for UR category and 45% (or equivalent
grade) for EWS/SC/ST/OBC candidates from a recognized University/ Institute.
Distribution of seats: Admission of students under DBT supported PG teaching program will be
done by the University as per reservation policy of Government of India on allotted 10 seats.

b. Candidates, in order of merit, will be intimated for admission on the university website, as
per the notified admission schedule. Along with the intimation letter (through e-mail), the
candidate will be provided with other relevant information, i.e.
i) the required fees to be paid by the candidate at the time of admission,
ii) the list of original documents to be verified during admission, and
iii) the last date of admission
c. Result-awaited categories: The candidates (those who have appeared in the qualifying
examination and the results are awaited) are also eligible to apply for consideration of
provisional admission. All such candidates will be required to produce proof of having
passed the qualifying examination to the University latest in the stipulated time, failing
which such provisional admission will stand cancelled. If the candidate is found ineligible
at a later date even after admission in the University, his/her admission will be cancelled.
d. Admission will be confirmed to the students in order of merit on satisfactory verification
of the Original documents including certificates and mark sheets.

Instructions for admission to DBT (GOI)-supported M.Sc. Biotechnology program at
Central University of Rajasthan
The candidates are required to check the eligibility criteria before applying for admission to DBT
(GOI)-supported M.Sc. Biotechnology program at Central University of Rajasthan.
The Candidate must have qualified GAT-B exam conducted by Regional Centre for
Biotechnology (RCB).
Candidates must ensure to have the necessary supporting documents mentioned below, before
initiating the application:

b) Birth Certificate/Matric (10th/SSC/equivalent) Certificate with Date of Birth

f) Undertaking for inability to submit certificate/s (if applicable)
Please ensure that all supporting documents are in PDF/JPEG format (except for the photograph)
and are less than 2MB in size.
A merit list based on GAT-B rank/score will be prepared after the application deadline (see
admission schedule).
Admission to M.Sc. Biotechnology program will be done solely on the basis of the valid GAT-B
score/rank (conducted by Regional Centre for Biotechnology (RCB), Govt of India) of the
candidate.
Candidates have to apply for the admissions through the online portal that can be accessed from the
University website.
All necessary information will be sent via E-mail to the given email id. Hence, the candidate must
provide a valid email id.
Candidates are advised to regularly visit the University website (www.iisuniv.ac.in) for any new
information/ announcement.
A candidate who has appeared in the final examination of their qualifying degree is also eligible to
apply, under the ‘ result awaited (RA)’ category. Candidates, who are unable to furnish the relevant
certificate, should submit the relevant undertaking given on the website (Annexure A to C).

Selected candidates are required to accept the admission offer by depositing the prescribed fee to
the University within the specified date.
A category-wise waiting list will be prepared as per the merit of GAT-B score and displayed on the
University website (refer to the admission schedule for dates).
In case a candidate either refuses the offer or does not pay the prescribed fee within the specified
date, the admission offer will be withdrawn, and the seat will be treated as vacant and will be offered
to the next candidate as per the University admission and reservation policy.
Withdrawal and Refund Policy
a) If the student withdraws his/her admission after the admission closure date (August 21, 2023) the
fee will be not be refunded as per the university fee refund policy.
b) Once the admission is withdrawn, the candidate will not be considered further for admissions to
IISU in the current session.
c) The refund will be processed and transferred to the source account from where it was deposited. To
further clarify, if money is deposited through third party account, then money will be revered to the
same account only. If fee is deposited through credit card or third-party transfer, reconciliation will
take time and may delay the refund process. Hence, the candidates are advised to deposit the
admission fee through their (or their parent’s) bank account.
d) Fees deposited shall be confirmed only after receipt of the same into the designated University
account. In case the fee is not transferred in the designated University account, the candidature shall
stand cancelled. University shall not be liable for any technical glitch during the transaction of
admission fee. Any queries in this regard shall not be entertained by the University.
Information regarding clarification on various points (documents, certificates, Affidavit,
undertaking etc.)
a) If the candidates fail to upload any required document at the time of filling online application form,
an undertaking for the same needs to be uploaded. The candidates who are facing problems to
obtain the relevant documents (qualifying mark sheet, degree, course completion certificate,
migration, transfer certificate etc.) from their Institute/ University, can provide an undertaking for
the same (Refer to Annexure A).
b) Latest EWS / OBC-NCL certificate is required to be uploaded for the online document verification.
Candidates unable to obtain latest EWS / OBC-NCL certificate can upload last issued EWS/OBC-
NCL certificate along with an affidavit (Refer to Annexure B/ C ) for Affidavit regarding EWS,
Annexure D on the portal. However, admission offered, if any, will be provisional, and subject to
the submission of latest EWS / OBC-NCL certificate.
