TOPIC- YOUTH CENTRE
INTRODUCTION
Youth center is a place where youth can meet and participate in variety of
activities which include informal educational and recreational activities. It
supports opportunities for youth to develop their physical, emotional, social, and
cognitive abilities and to experience achievement, leadership, recognition,
enjoyment, and friendship.
It is essential for the youth to realize their potential and thrive. For this, youth
need opportunities and bond beyond than school and home. These centers are
essential for the physical and mental well-being of the youth. Youth center offers
programs for physical activities such as dance, music, sports and also for learning
new things and exercising their talents and hobbies which encourage the growth
of positive self-esteem. This place would be an amalgamation of fun and
productive for youth to enjoy their time and nourish their growing mind. Youth
have a very different set of values, understandings and needs and so they need to
be spoken to on a level with which they understand. Youths who attend this
center are able to freely express their opinions without fear of judgements and
are encouraged to participate in the different activities.
NEED AND RELEVANCE OF TOPIC
Young people matter today because they are our tomorrow. Never before have
youth been so high and interested in the public agenda – both positively and
negatively. There is still, however, more to be done before all young people
achieve their full potential. Establishing and using the practices of Youth Centre
would do wonders for future generations.
A youth center would be an investment in our future generations and would
facilitate long – term benefits to the young people of varying communities. The
key to the success of the facility is the space itself. It functions to promote a sense
of ownership and freedom of expression for various social and cultural activities,
including performance and social areas for music, life skills, recreation, and social
interaction.
AIM
Aim of Youth Centre is to assist young people to become happy, mature,
responsible and contributing members of the society.
OBJECTIVES
1. To provide alternative way of learning and expression.
2. To increase youth involvement in social and other activities.
3. To promote personality development of youth by providing them special
opportunities.
4. To create the space where youth can interact with each other, share
information and build healthy bond among the various groups.

SITE SELECTION
The Youth Center will have 6 acres of plot in Mumbai, Bandra.
SCOPE AND LIMITATIONS
Providing the required facilities and environment, proper spaces can be a
potential scope for upgrading this centre.
Limitation of this project is to meet up the functional and aesthetic requirements.
