Schedule of Topics
Day 1 Return all signed documents, introduction to course, and grooming salon tour.
Day 2 Learning about health concerns of pet, how to identify, and how to communicate it with the owner.
Learning about the importance of health in teeth, ears, anal glands, skin conditions and parasites, and toe
nail health and maintenance.
Equipment
Learn about animal behavior and how to interact with the animal.
Day 3 Time management skills, what Sydnee’s expects. Planning out your day, keeping track of time, and the
importance of timing.
Day 4 Bathing
Safety with brushing, de-matting, and de-shedding. How to avoid injuring the pet.

Teach front desk, check in and out pets, answer phones, scheduling
Day 9 Work a full day in the salon from opening, to checking in their pets, to bathing and finishing, and checking
out their pets. This will be the hand-on portion of the final test.
Week 3 Learn how to complete bath and brush heavy coated dogs from start to finish. Learn how to trim feathers,
faces and feet on bath and brush dogs.

Method of Instruction
This course will be a combination of classroom instruction, demonstrations, text book work, quizzes and exams, and hands
on training. Each student will be required to perform a certain number of tasks properly in order to pass the course.
