SECTION 02: HISTORY AND IMPORTANCE OF QURAN

Themes of the Quranic Passages

Example: Q. (a) From passages you have studied from the Qur’an, write about God’s

relationship with humankind.

➢ Refer the Surahs from the syllabus for each of the following three themes, depending

upon the question you are asked.

1: Allah in Himself

These passages contain the unity of Allah/ His Tawhid. Each passage proves tawhid with a

different aspect.

2: Allah's relationship with the created world/ with humankind

➢ These passages contain the Allah's creativity, bestowing of knowledge, justice, guidance

and protection. All have the same theme of Allah’s kind relationship with His created

world/ mankind

3: Allah's Messengers

➢ These five Quranic passages refer to Allah's creation of Adam(a.s.), Miracles of Isa

(a.s.), true faith of Ibrahim (a.s.), and favors upon the Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.)

For all four sources

➢ you who have believed, obey Allah and obey the Messenger and those in authority

among you. And if you disagree over anything, refer it to Allah and the Messenger...."

(Quran)

1: The Quran

➢ "And we have sent down to you a book explaining all things......." (Quran)
➢ Let there be no compulsion in Religion" (Quran)

➢ "Allah has allowed trade and forbidden riba (interest)". (Quran)

the Word of Allah?'. 'Then according to the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah'. 'And if

you find no solution in the Messenger of Allah?'. 'Then I shall take decision to my own

opinion'. Then the Holy Prophet (s.a. w.) struck Muaz (r.a.) on the chest with his hand
