King Abdullah Sports City was provided by Pitch Floodlighting control. The pitch floodlights are controlled
independently. The operator will be able to select an event scene from the modes of lighting presented on the
monitor screen i.e. match mode. The graphical display on the monitor(s) will show Stadium outline at all levels
together with all Stadium pitch and stand lighting unit status. Failure of the Pitch Lighting communications bus will
switch all lighting units controlled by that part of the system ON. Within the lighting control panel for the Pitch /
Stand lighting a manual override for all Pitch and Stand lighting circuits will be provided.

7. Responsibilities
Main Contractor OR
• Commissioning Engineer shall check the Commissioning works prior to submission for inspection
and approval.
• In case of failure in any test, the Commissioning engineer will rectify, and Commissioning Engineer
to re-offer the test for re-inspection and approval.
• All Original Test reports witnessed and approved will be retained by the Commissioning Engineer a
copy of the final testing & Commissioning Report for Pitch Lighting will be forwarded to the MSX.
• Notification of any witnessing of Pre-commissioning & Commissioning activities shall be forwarded
to all personnel prior to commencement of activity.
7.5 Specialist Sub-Contractor
• M/s OSRAM Middle East FZE. is the main supplier of Pitch Lighting. Thermo Commissioning shall
perform all testing and commissioning of Pitch Lighting under direct supervision of Thermo
Electrical Commissioning Engineer, complying with the procedure specified in the specification as a
requirement and in line with manufacturer’s recommendations and instruction.
• Safety permits to be prepared in advance and obtained approval as per the site safety
requirements.
• Isolation of the area, and warning signs display if necessary, to be carried out for any testing and
energizing. Ensure all concerned personnel shall use PPE and all other safety items as required.

a) Check whether system is installed as per approved drawing and design. Pre-commissioning
checks shall be carried out before the initial start-up.
9.1.2 Sub contractor shall perform all testing and commissioning of all Pitch Lighting. Equipment
complying with the procedure specified in the specification as a requirement and in line with
manufacturer recommendations and instructions.
9.1.3 Check and ensure the following items prior to pre-commissioning and commissioning.
b) Availability of access to all equipments and components required to testing and commissioning
and servicing.
c) Check the installation that should conform to the design drawings and specifications
e) Check instruments, which are going to used for testing are calibrated and certified by the
laboratory.
b) Ensure that the Pitch floodlighting Control devices and panels installation are complete and the
electrical system readiness Form.
c) Ensure the Pitch floodlighting Control, interface modules and the panels are properly tagged
and identified.
d) Ensure that the wiring terminations to the Pitch Floodlighting control panels (LCP) are
completed in line with the latest updated schedule incorporating all changes.
e) Ensure that installation of light fittings fed from lighting control panels / modules are complete
including termination.
f) Ensure that the cable installation and termination is complete in all the LCP.
g) Ensure that ballast is installed in the light fixtures wherever controls are required.

h) Ensure that the final wire connected to the light fixture is heat resistant wire with ceramic
connector.
i) Ensure the lighting system console (computer) is properly installed and the installation is
approved.
k) Ensure the system software and the configuration parameters are available.

GENERAL NOTES:
1. All Illumination measurements are to be taken after 100 hours lamp 'burn in'.
2. A sketch detailing the location of measurement points is to be attached to this test report.
3. Type of lighting to be one of the following: Road / Flood / Fluorescent / Aviation Obstruction.
4. All luminaries will be locked into position when satisfactory illumination levels are achieved.
5. Anti-glare louvers should be fitted prior to illumination measurement.
6. Illumination measurements will be carried out at night.

Permit to Work have been met before signing the clearance to work.Appropiate PPE to be
