At the end of the module, students will be able to: pen and papers.

1. Share the first thing you did as you woke up this morning.
2. Today, I want you to know your responsibilities as citizen in this country. As we go over with the

concept notes, think of something good you do in your community.

B. COACH (Do and Think)(20 mins)

Activity 1: Get a partner and discuss the difference between citizenship from nationality. Refer to Article 4
of the Philippine Constitution or open this site below:

Activity 2: With your partner, think of a scenario that shows the duties and responsibilities of a
Filipino citizen.

Remember, as a Filipino citizen, we have obligations to fulfill our duties and responsibilities for the country.
These are listed below:

1. It shall be the duty of the citizen to be loyal to the Republic and to honor the Philippine flag, to
defend the State and contribute to its development and welfare, to uphold the Constitution and
obey the laws, and to cooperate with the duly constituted authorities in the attainment and
preservation of a just and orderly society.

2. The rights of the individual impose upon him the correlative duty to exercise them responsibly and
with due regard for the rights of others.
3. It shall be the duty of every citizen to engage in gainful work to assure himself and his family a life
worthy of human dignity.
4. It shall be the obligation of every citizen qualified to vote to register and cast his vote.

_T_1. A citizen is someone who belongs to or member of a political society.


_T_2. It is the responsibility of a Filipino citizen to uphold the Constitution, obey the laws, and
cooperate with the duly constituted authorities in the attainment and preservation of a just and
orderly society.
_T_3. One of the obligations of a qualified Filipino Citizen is to participate in a political affair (to register
and cast his votes).
_T_4. Peace can be attained and sustained when you develop a deep consciousness of your faith in God,
concern for your fellow men, and loyalty to your country.
_T_5. Respect for life refers to the recognition of the absolute value of human life and the human dignity of
every person.

C2. Instructions: Make a 5-minute script that presents a good citizen in the country.
