Precautions
① Make sure ODIS has been upgraded to the latest version 3182.
② For the Golf A7 model, be sure to read and save the data stream in this way,
otherwise you will not be able to get a complete shift
box data, normal diagnosis cannot be performed.
③ For other models, you can choose the "guided function" or "control unit
self-diagnosis" channel, see Figure 2-31.

2.2.3 Transmission Fault Diagnosis

2.2.3.1 DQ250 gearbox produces impact when switching between N gear and D gear

Phenomenon DQ250 gearbox N block and D block conversion produces impact.

solution
①Test run, confirm the failures reported by the user as described below.
a. After the vehicle is started, when it is stationary and shifts from N gear to D gear or from
D gear to N gear, the vehicle produces an impact.
b. The above phenomenon occurs when the car is cold or hot.
c. There is no fault record in VAS diagnosis transmission system.
d. The mileage of the vehicle is generally more than 25,000km.
② For the faulty vehicle, replace the DQ250 transmission clutch.
Precautions
① After replacing the clutch, the basic settings of the gearbox must be performed.
② Special care must be taken when installing the DQ250 clutch, handle with care. After the production line of the clutch,
all the internal parts are balanced with each other. If the position of the internal parts deviates, it will cause uneven
shifting.
2.2.3.2 The DQ250 clutch failure causes the vehicle to be unable to drive after it is in gear
Fault phenomenon After the vehicle is started and shifted into D and R gears, the gear indicator on the instrument
flashes, and at the same time, the VAS505X displays the fault code "19143—gearbox shift program is not credible", as
shown in Figure 2-60.
Fault judgment method:
Fault code 342, no other FID fault code (text value "65535" means no FID fault code), as shown in Figure 2-610
① Read the 51~53 data groups of the D250 gearbox, of which the 51~53 groups are the fault memory.
② Read the vehicle mileage, if the vehicle mileage is more than 30000km, and there is and only FID in the 51~53 data
group
shown. At this time, it can be confirmed that the problem is caused by the failure of the DQ250 clutch, and the solution is
to replace the clutch.

③If the conditions in ② above are not met (the mileage is greater than 30,000km and only the fault
code "342"), then the fault is caused by a mechanical fault of the gearbox or a fault of the
electromechanical unit.

2.3.4 Transmission Fault Diagnosis
2.3.4.1 Magotan 09G gearbox upshifts slowly
Symptoms 09G automatic gearbox upshifts slowly, acceleration is weak, fuel consumption increases, noise
is loud,
diagnostic process
① There is no fault record in the VAS5052A detection system.
2. Check the air flow meter, throttle opening, accelerator pedal signal, fuel pressure (low pressure, high
pressure), fuel injection pulse
The data of width, oxygen sensor and turbocharger are all within the normal range compared with the
normal car. base throttle
Set, the setting result shows normal, test run.
③ Carry out a road test on the vehicle, the engine acceleration performance is normal, the upshift of the
automatic transmission is slow, especially the D4 gear; switch to the manual mode, the vehicle runs
normally, and the upshifts of 4, 5, and 6 gears are normal; the preliminary judgment affects the vehicle's
acceleration weakness , The reason for the increase in fuel consumption is that the gearbox is always
driven in low gear.
4. Check the automatic transmission oil, the oil quality and oil level are normal; replace the transmission oil
and remove the filter screen, no abnormality is found;
Considering that the upshift is normal in manual mode, the mechanical wear of the gearbox can be ruled
out.
⑤ Check the size and model of the 4 tires, they are all in the same grade, and the ABS signal causes the
transmission to shift up.
slow.
6. Use VAS5052A to focus on checking whether there are any problems in the gearbox circuit and control,
and read 02-data stream, data
According to block 004-3 area, whether the vehicle is on a straight uphill road or downhill, it always
displays "UP", that is, the uphill mode; in the second area of group 005, "HILL (slope coefficient)" always
changes between 60% and 100% . A normal car should change with the road conditions. According to the
analysis of the data flow, it can be concluded that the reason for the slow upshift of the gearbox is that the
gearbox is always in the climbing state (climbing shift
The box needs to reduce speed and increase torque), and the data flow is shown in Figure 2-74.

Figure 2-74 Transmission data flow

⑦ There is no sensor inside the gearbox to identify uphill and downhill, but there is slope change
data in the gearbox data stream. This data comes from J540, which is the electromechanical
parking brake control unit.
⑧ Read the ABS data stream, as shown in Figure 2-75 and Figure 2-76.
⑨ Disconnect J540, test the car repeatedly, the fault does not reappear, read the data stream of
J540, replace J540, and the fault is eliminated.
Figure 2-75 Normal car data flow

Figure 2-76 Fault car data flow

Failure Analysis
① The main factors affecting the upshift of the gearbox controller are engine speed,
throttle opening, accelerator pedal position, engine
engine output torque, automatic transmission output torque and vehicle speed, etc.
② The Magotan also uses a longitudinal acceleration sensor to collect road conditions. If
the sensor misreports information, it will cause the speed to change.
An error occurred in the box logic, resulting in incorrect gear shifts.
Troubleshooting Replace the J540 electromechanical parking brake control unit.
2.3.4.2 Sagitar 09G gearbox wiring harness disconnection causes the red screen to be
displayed on the instrument panel when the gear is engaged
Symptoms The gear position on the instrument panel displays a red screen during
driving.
Diagnostic process
① Turn on the ignition switch and find a red screen in the gear display area of the
instrument panel.
② Use VAS6150 to read vehicle fault memory.
a. The fault of the engine control unit is 18060, please read the transmission
control unit of the airbag control unit static, see Figure 2-77.

Figure 2-77 Read fault code 18060

b. The gearbox fault is 00258 solenoid valve 1-N88 open circuit/short to positive
pole static, 00349 solenoid valve 10 open circuit/
Short circuit to ground Static, see Figure 2-78 and Figure 2-79.

Figure 2-79 Display fault code 00349

③According to the fault code and combined with the circuit diagram, measure the
wiring harness connection between the transmission control unit and the solenoid
valve. When the 14-pin plug on the transmission was unplugged, it was found that the
wiring harness had been repaired. Further inspection found that the No. 9 pin
connection line disconnected, see Figure 2-80.
