Job market for the PM/BA hybrid professional

On November 14, 2009 I conducted a variety of searches of
the 3 major online job markets listed below. I was looking for
positions requiring both significant PM and BA skills and
experiences. I got the following results:
 Monster: 1390 positions
 Dice: 204 positions
 HotJobs: 322 positions

TOTAL: 1916 open PM/BA hybrid positions!

So there is a demand for these hybrid professionals.

But where are the qualified candidates?
And who has programs to prepare them?

NOTE: I did not identify or try to remove duplicates.

The recognized needs have been largely ignored in the

published literature and were the motivation for my
writing this applications-oriented book.

One of the many testimonials I have received

“Bob has written the most comprehensive book to date on the roles
of the PM and BA. He correctly asserts there is not one right way to
assign these resources to every project. The complexity and
differing characteristics of individual project types must be
considered when deciding which roles and which individuals will
excel on each project. Bob provides very specific recommendations
that will help managers select the right person for the right role.”

Focus of today’s webinar

Effective complex project management

requires these hybrid professionals . . .

BA PM

BA/PM
or
PM/BA
BA/pm PM/ba . . . but the position family is not
yet defined; there is no career
Business development program for them,
Process and no curriculum model exists.
