ASSIGNMENT OF DUTIES TO ELECTRICAL INSTALLATION ELECTRICIAN

Having been appointed in terms of Section 16.2 of the Occupational Health and Safety Act 85 of 1993 for
Area of Responsibility hereby appoint you Mr/Ms Full Name, as Electrical Installation Electrician for
Company Name.

In terms of Regulation 9 Electrical Installation Regulations of the Occupational Health and Safety Act 85
of 1993, you are hereby appointed as the installation electrician/accredited person for the following
area/premises: Name or description of premises/area

Please ensure that you understand and comply with the relevant requirements of the Occupational
Health and Safety Act. Your duties are stipulated in Electrical Installation Regulations 3, 6 and 7.

With regard to installation work, you are also responsible for the following:

1 Supervision of work, not performed by you, but for which you are responsible.
2 Ensuring that the work is done in a safe manner and in accordance with all safety standards and
by-laws.
3 Inspection and testing of all completed work prior to making application for the connection of the
electrical installation to the electrical supply.
4 Completing a certificate of compliance if no exemption has been obtained from this requirement.
Please confirm your acceptance of this assignment and understanding of the duties involved, by signing
the attached copy of this letter and returning it to me.
