NEX-SWP-19.5 REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION OF NEW SUPPORT BRACKET AND CEILING BOARD

1.0 - Purpose:
This Safe Work Procedure is developed to fulfil the requirement of the WSH Regulations.

2.0 - Scope: This instruction applies to all employee, contractors and representative of
company. This procedure shall be read in conjuntion with other Safe
Work Procedure and the WSH.
3.0 - Related NEX-RA-19.5

5.1 - Operational Preparation


Procedure: a) Site check and site measurement.
b) Secure proper Permit to Work at Site (Hot work, Cold work, Work at heights Permits)
c) Establish gas free status prior to hot work PTW approval from the performing
party (Permit Applicant) the SMAG Endorsing Representative and the Approving
party shall conduct an inspection at the worksite (3- Party Confirmation)
d) Conduct TBM for briefing of work details and hazards and its Control measures during
the activity.
e) Equipments to use must have LEW certificates.
f) Cover the laboratory door (panel boards when working inside laboratory and CCR)
with canvass to prevent dust to going in and prevent property damage.
g) Coordinate and communicate with the CCR office and PIC's and secure approved PTW
secure endorsement from plant concerned as per location of each activity.
h) Ensure correct PPE is used during the activity (Helmet, safety goggles, faceshield
during drilling, ear plug, cover all clothing and safety boots)
i) Barricade the area to prevent unauthorized entry. (as per work locations)
j) Gas check to be performed by the authorized gas tester prior to drilling works.
k) Brief again the workers regarding the hazards that may arise during the activity.
l) Assign a fire watchman during the course of work to ensure CCR staff movements are
being guided from time to time.
5.1 - Operational m) Supervisor in charge to monitor workers activity in accordance with the SWP at all times.
Procedure: n) Any untoward incident or any abnormalities/deviation while on the course of work must
be reported to the concerned Foreman/Supervisor for proper action.

Erection and Removal of mobile scaffold (Provision of access way, work


platform and supervision)
a. Suitable accessways to be provided and work must be closely supervised.
(To ensure that scaffold has proper support on the ground level)
b. Permit to work as required by the WSH (Work at Heights) Regulations and WSH
(Construction) Regulations must be closely followed.
c. Refer to the Method Statement for Erection, Dismantling and Modification of Scaffold
by MULTIHEIGHT SCAFFOLDING PTE. LTD.
d. Ensure to lock the mobile wheelock when in use.

Removal of support bracket and Installation on new ceiling boards


a) Secure proper Permit to Work at Site (Hot work, Cold work, Work at heights Permits)
b) Use harness if work is more than 2 meter high.
c) Hold power tools firmly with working gloves and be aware of correct body posture.
d) Buddy system is a must.
e) Establish good communication and coordination amongst workers and observe other
worker below before handing over and taking of tools and materials upward
and downward
f) Check ladders condition as per checklist before work commence.
g) Assign worker to hold the ladder when in use.
h) Ladder must be placed on a firm ground.
i) Do not carry any tool when climbing up/down a ladder.
j) Hand tool must be secured by holding firmly using hand gloves during the work.
k) Do not stand on the last 2 rang of the ladder.
l) Do not lean the ladder at any equipment or piping or at electrical panel.
m) Do not place the ladder or leave the ladder in a obstruction manner at any passage way.
n) Bring the ladder back to its designated location.

Housekeeping and Demobilization


a. To clear all debris, cut materials, discard consumables and etc. At site.
b. To observe proper housekeeping before and after works.
c. Ensure all electrical appliances to unplug from power source after work.
d. Hand tools/ electrical tools to keep inside tool boxes or receptacles at site after use.
6.0 - Equipment a) - Electrical tools to be inspected by LEW and with valid LEW sticker before use.
