I. OBJECTIVES:
a. Describe the basic functions of Go, Grow and Glow food.
b. Give examples of Go, Grow, and Glow food.

IV. PROCEDURES:
A. Reviewing past lesson.
Ask:
a. What did you do yesterday during flag raising ceremony after
singing the Philippine National Anthem and the SDO Hymn?

B. Establishing a purpose of the new lesson.


Ask:
a. What did you eat this morning?
b. Was it delicious?

Show pictures of foods and ask:


Which of these foods is your favorite? Why?
C. Presenting instances of the new lesson.
Presentation of the story. “Mommy Loves Mio”

D. Discussing New Concepts


What are the different food groups?
Energy-giving Foods (Go)
Body- building Foods (Grow)
Body- regulating Foods (Glow)

Explain and show pictures as example:


What are the benefits of each food group?
What kinds of food does our body need?
Are you practicing good eating habits?

Integration:
*What are some of the things that you do every day to stay healthy?
 We can follow the Pinggang Pinoy guide to know how much
Go, Grow, and Glow food to eat with each meal.

E. Developing Mastery
Group Work:
The class will be divided into three. Each group will be given pictures of
food. The group will help each other to classify the foods as Go, Grow,
and Glow by showing pictures in front of the class.

F. Finding Practical Application of Concepts and Skills in Daily Living


Ask: What does it feel in performing your group task.
G. Making Generalization:
Asking questions about Food Groups.

H. Evaluating Learnings:
Answer the worksheets provided.

I. Additional Activities
List the foods that you eat for the entire day and classify them whether
they are Go, Grow, and Glow foods. Using a table.
