Assembling the nose, eyes, ears and antlers
Now is the time to make the details on Ella’s face. You are going to start with the nose and
eyes. You should do this on the opposite side of the start of the round.
Stuff the nose a bit and sew it on the face between rounds 14 and 20. The safety eyes are
placed between rounds 15 and 16 about 3 st from the nose on either side.
Embroider the eyelashes, pink cheeks and eyebrows on the face as shown in the picture. The
eyebrows should be embroidered obliquely between rounds 9 and 11. Sew the ears on either
side of the head on round 9. The antlers should be secured on either side of the head
between rounds 2 and 4. For the final touches you should embroider the white spots on
Ella’s forehead. See the pictures for reference, there’s a close up picture on page 6.

Legs, light dusted rose, linen color and nature white color
When making the legs, the work is going to be divided. First you are going to locate 3
stitches in the middle of the front and 3 stitches in the middle of the back of Ella’s body.
These 3 stitches on both sides (6 st in total) are going to be the space between the legs.
Each leg is going to have 12 stitches around. You might find it helpful to use stitch markers.
The legs should be placed with a nice, straight line from the center of the head down to the
space between the legs. If this is not the case, you can crochet a few extra stitches or undo
some. Stuff with fiberfill as you go.
Leg 1:
Rnd 49: Continue with light dusted rose color. Now you need to join the front and back with
the 12 stitches of the first leg. Crochet a few stitches towards your stitch marker and
continue working around with the 12 stitches in total.
Remember to work in a clockwise direction to make sure that the pattern will be on the
right side. Make sure that your color changes in rounds 50 and 70 are placed on the center
of the back of the legs. This applies to both legs. Sc in all 12 st (12)
Rnd 50: sc in all 12 st (12). Change to linen colored yarn in the last stitch.
Rnd 51-70: sc in all 12 st (12).
Make sure that you are on the back of the leg. Change to nature white yarn in the last stitch
of round 70.
Rnd 71-75: 1 sc in all 12 st (12)
Rnd 76: dec x 6 (6)
Fasten off and leave a long tail for closing the leg.
Leg 2:
Rnd 49: Make a loop on your hook and attach the nature white yarn on the back side of the
leg. This is going to be the beginning of the second leg.
Make 12 sc in total and join the front and back side as you did with the first leg (12).
Rnd 50: sc in all 12 st (12). Change to linen colored yarn in the last st.
Rnd 51-70: sc in all 12 st (12). Make sure that you are on the back of the leg. Change to
nature white yarn in the last stitch of round 70.
Rnd 71-75: 1 sc in all 12 st (12)
Rnd 76: dec x 6 (6)
Fasten off and leave a long tail for closing the leg. Add extra fiberfill in the gap between the
legs. Sew the gap shut with light dusted rose yarn.

Ella the Deer
Dress, light dusted rose and light
mint green yarn
Make a loop on your hook and insert the yarn in one of
the front loops of round 37 of the body.
Make sure that the top of Ella’s head is facing you!
The dress is made by alternating between one round
with the light dusted rose yarn and one round with the
light mint green yarn. Make the color changes in the
end-of-the-round slip stitch. You choose, whether you
want to cut the yarn after each round. If so, make sure
to leave a long tail for weaving in the ends.
Rnd 1: Ch 3 (counts as the first dc), dc in the same st, 1
dc in the next st, (2 dc, 1 dc in the next st) x 17, sl st in
the first st of the round (54)
Rnd 2: Ch 3, 1 dc in the same st, 1 dc in the next st, (2
dc, 1 dc in the next st) x 26, sl st in the first st of the round (81)
Rnd 3-5: Ch 3, dc in all 80 st, sl st in the first st of the round (81). Finish off and weave in the
ends.
Arms (make 2), linen color, light mint green and light dusted
rose yarn
Stuff with fiberfill as you crochet, less filling at the
top. Start with linen colored yarn.
Rnd 1: 6 sc in a magic ring (6)
Rnd 2: (inc, 1 sc in the next st) x 3 (9)
Rnd 3: inc, 4 sc, inc, 3 sc (11)
Rnd 4-5: sc in all 11 st (11)
Rnd 6: 5 sc, 5-dc-bobble, 5 sc (11)
Rnd 7: 4 sc, (dec) x 2, 3 sc (9). Change to light mint
green yarn in the last st.
From now on you alternate between 2 rounds of
light mint green yarn and 2 rounds of light dusted
rose yarn.
PLEASE NOTE that you have to make 2-4 extra sc on
the right arm before the color change to light mint
green. This will be the new start of the round. This
way the color change will not be visible from the
front.
Rnd 8-19: 1 sc in all 9 st (9).
Crochet the top of the arm closed with 4 stitches. Make sure that the thumb (5-dc-bobble)
is on the side of the hand. Fasten off and leave a long tail for assembly.
Sew the arms on to the body on round 28. Remember to place the arms with the thumbs
facing forward.

Headband, light dusted rose yarn
Depending on your gauge, you may have to crochet a few extra stitches to make the
headband fit around Ella’s head.
Ch 51. Start in the 2nd st from your hook and make 1 dc in all 50 st (50)
Cut the yarn and leave a long tail for assembly.
Bow, light dusted rose yarn
Ch 24. Make a closed circle with a sl st in the first ch st. Make sure that the chain doesn’t
twist.
Rnd 1: Continue around the circle with 1 sc in each st (24)
Rnd 2-4: 1 sc in all 24 st (24)
Finish off with a sl st in the next st. Leave a long tail when cutting the yarn. Fold the piece
and use the yarn tail to wrap around the middle of the piece to make a bow.
Assembling the headband and bow
Place the headband on Ella’s head in front of the ears. You can use pins to hold the
headband in place while securing it in the back of the head. To make sure, the headband
stays in place, I have made a few securing stitches all the way around. Secure the bow on
the left side of the headband.
