SAFETY OPERATION PROCEDURE

1. Scope:

This procedure is used to perform chemical activity in Aeronautics Laboratory Faculty of


Mechanical Engineering.

2. Objective:

To provide guidance and procedures work properly and safely to prevent injury to the
body's internal and external members.

3. Reference Documents:

3.1. Occupational Safety and Health Act 1994 - (Section 15 (2) (b), required employers and
self-employed persons. Employers must create a safe workplace and healthy not only for
employees, but also for the general public.

3.2. Standard Operating Procedure for welding safety, welding in confined spaces, handling
of compressed gases, fire and electrical safety, ventilation, protective equipment, and
worker training OSHE UTM.

4. Oven Procedure

4.1. Operating the door


4.1.1. The door is opened by pulling on the door handle.
4.1.2. The door is closed by the door handle being pushed in.

4.2. Switching On
4.2.1. The oven is switched on by pressing the push/turn control.

4.3. Setting Air Change


4.3.1. Moving the air slider opens and closes the air valve to control the supply and
discharge of air.

4.4. Setting the Temperature.


4.4.1. Hold down the SET key and set the temperature setpoint with the push/turn
control.
4.4.2. After the SET key has been released the display briefly flashes the temperature
setpoint.
4.4.3. The display then changes to the actual current temperature and the controller starts
to control to the selected temperature setpoint.

5. Personal Protective Equipment

Protective Clothing: Laboratory coat and gloves

6. Emergency

6.1. Always use gloves. If the oven has to be carried, at least 2 persons are required to
transport it.

6.2. Stop all activity of experimental if any emergency happened, stay in the safe place
and seek medical help.
