1 - GENERAL POINTS
: The F,, 21400 A electronic selector is designed as a direct
replacement for all types of rotary electro-mechanical
i selector made since 1950 by EDOUX SAMAIN, DENY, ASCINTER or
Oris. :
It has a rotary switch for programming the number of floors
in the building. ;
A set of 4 micro-switches is used to adapt the selector to
various configurations to cover all possible types of
installation.
In addition to this, the selector will generate its own
reset after a cut in the supply, by creating calls at the
top and bottom floors. :

During normal operation thé selector may have the 23
different status shown in the diagram (the maximum
number, corresponding with a 12.floor installation).
When the selector has a status represented by one
line, it will change to the status of the line above
when a pulse IU is input at terminal 12.
By the same token it will change to the status of

The rear ring contact for the bottom floor may be
angled or straight.
Angled bottom floor contact Straight bottom floor contact
2.4.1.1 I€ the contact is angled, status n° 2 on the
opérating, diagram will not exist.
This means that a. Single pulse IU will switch the
selector from’status 1 to status 3 when the lift
is going up (level 1 to level'2). In this case the
vane generating this pulse will be located at the
slowing down distance below floor 2.
2.4.1.2 If the contact is straight, status n° 2 will
exist.
in this case 2 pulses will be required to switch
the selector from status.1 to status 3 or vice
versa.
A vane located at the slowing down distance above
floor 1 will generate the pulse IU which will
switch the selector from status 2 to status 3 when
the lift-is going up.
Then a second.vane located at’ the slowing. down
distance below floor 2 will generate the pulse IU
to switch the selector from status 2 to status 3
when the lift is going up.
When the lift is going down, these vanes will
generate pulses ID which will switch the selector
from status 3 to status 2, and then from status 2

2.4.2.1 I the contact is angled the intermididte status
below the top floor will not exist.
This means that a single pulse IU will switch the
selector from the last-but-one floor to the top
floor when the lift is going up. In the same way a
single pulse ID will switch the selector from the
top floor to the last-but-one floor when the lift
is going down. In this case the vane generating
this pulse will be situated at the slowing down
distance above the last-but-one floor.
2.4.2.2 If the contact is straight the intermediate status
below the top flocr will exist. .
In this case 2 pulses will be needed to switch the
selector from the top to the last-but-one floor,
and vice versa.
One vane will be situated at the slowing down
distance above the last-but-one floor and another
at the slowing down distance below the top floor.
2.4.3 Note : The selectors never have an angled contact at
the top and a straight one at the bottom of the rear
ging,
However, the other 3 possible combinations exist: 2
angled, 2 straight, or 1 angled at the bottom with a
straight one at the top.
2.4.4 Some selectors have no rear ring. In this case the
selector behaves as if it had a rear ring with
angled contacts at top and bottom.oTts FIELD COMPONENT MANUAL

3.1 Supply 7
‘Terminals L1, L2 and earth must be connected to the
power, supply.’
For a supply voltage of 220V, the jumper must be
positioned at CV10.
For a supply voltage of 380V, the jumper must be
positioned at cv9.
For a supply voltage of 415V maximum, the jumper
must be positioned at cV11.
The board is protected by a 0.1A fuse.
This fuse will following the power voltage : for

The state of each relay is shown by an LED\whi/ch is
These LEDs, Ll to L26, are situated right next to
the corresponding relays, Kl to K26._
LED L27 shows ‘that the input ID terminal 14 is ON.
LED L28 shows that the input IU terminal 12 is ON,
LED.130 shows faults.-it is not normally OFF. zz it
is permanently alight the board is defective or its

If it flashes, it shows that the selector has not
been able to reset. The number of pulses received
during the complete travel from top £0 bottom, or
from bottom to top does not correspond with the
programme established.
3.3. Self test
When switch CCl is in the 0 position, the selector
carries out its self test. All the relays are fed in
turn for 1 second. The cycle repeats itself

Reset,
After a power failure, the selector will have lost
its position.
This state will be indicated by the fact that LEDs
Ll and B11 will be alight. To find its position
again the device closes relay Kl4 (LED L14 alight)
and closes relays K12 and K13 alternately.
Contacts Nl and NT of these two relays are used to
generate calls at the top and bottom floors, in
order to make the car travel ‘from one end to the
other of the hatch.
The selector is reset vhen 1t has counted, during a
full car rise, the number of pulses which it expects
according to its programme. If the count is not
correct, the sequencé starts again. If 10 travels
take place without thé correct’ recult being
obtained, the machine shuts down and LED 30 flashes
to show that reset was impossible.
Connections
The terminals on’ elestronic selector . carry the same
markings as those of the FO 9558 rotary selector.
They should be connected in exactly the same way as
the selector being replaced. ‘
Besides, the supply terminals must be connected, and
also those which drive the reset by generating car -

4 - NOTES ABOUT SOME MISO
In a lift the slowing or stopping at. the top or bottom
floor should be triggered by the action of a cam on a
switch indicating the; end of the rise,
The deletion of the call at terminal floor can be obtained
by closing the corresponding contact’ on the rear ring.
If this contact was also used to cause the lift to stop the
Lift would-not go to the terminal floor, if the selector was
out of step, Consequently reset would be impossible.
In some LM diagrams, the complexity of the diagram leads to
faults which could be avoided with special circuits using
contact of relay K14. i

REPAIR:
On inspection operation,
the selector offsets when
the car stops and starts
as the inductor switch is
in mesh with a vane.
‘The pulses are controlled by U or
D contacts which fall each time
the carstops. Whenever itmoves,
another Impulse is input into the
selector, which offsets. Circuit

6) Description of reset
When the system is powered up, the reset re'ays move the unit in one direction, then
in the other.
The car, on the bottom floor, will start to the top floor, controlled by NT on the upper
selector.
‘The, lower selector receives pulses without taking them into account.
When the selectors trip from one to another, IPD contact opens, and nothing happens.
When it passes in front of the magnet, IPU makes its contact and “X" relay is lifted,
because “Rg” relay is lifted, since the lower selector is not reset.
Relay N11W pulls in and the upper selector receives pulses (N11W—S2—IMD). The
selector counts the up pulses. When it reaches the top floor, the car waits for the reset
| Gall from the bottom floor. (
‘The upper selector counts the down pulses, until it reaches the selector trip l4vel, 3° \
it resets. In front of the magnet, IPU is released, but does nothing.
‘N12W pulls in, due, to the upper selector resetting and enables the lower tor to
receive the pulses.
IPD contact opens then x relay drops, which inturn cases N11W to be oo ‘elay
ele}
When it reaches the bottom floor, the car waits for the top fldor reset call. Then it starts
upward, the lower sélector checks the pulses and resets when it reaches the tripping
level,
Accordingly, both selectors wi
reset, one after the other, in all types of installation.oTIs FIELD COMPONENT. MANUAL [Pet FAM
