Common questions

Powered by AI

To prevent tipping, operators should be cautious when working on grades by ensuring the operating area is flat and keeping the bucket low to the ground. They should avoid driving across or steering on slopes and immediately lower the bucket if skidding occurs. The machine’s direction should only be changed on level ground .

To prevent back-over and swing accidents, operators should always look around before moving to ensure all bystanders are clear. The travel alarm and horn should be in working condition, and if the view is obstructed, a signal person should assist. Hand signals must conform to regulations, keeping the signal person visible at all times. Proper lighting and reducing speed in low-visibility conditions are important preventive steps .

Operators are advised to be prepared for emergencies by having a first aid kit and fire extinguisher on hand, understanding the proper use of the fire extinguisher, checking and servicing it regularly as specified, and establishing emergency procedure guidelines for fires and accidents. Emergency numbers should be posted clearly for quick access in case of a fire or medical emergency .

Fastening seat belts is crucial because it minimizes the chance of injury if the machine overturns. Remaining seated with a securely fastened seat belt prevents the operator from being ejected from the cab or crushed by the machine. Seat belts should be regularly inspected and replaced every three years to ensure safety during operation .

Operators should wear close-fitting clothing and appropriate safety gear, which may include a hard hat, safety shoes, safety glasses, goggles, or face shield, heavy gloves, hearing protection, reflective clothing, and wet weather gear. Loose clothing, jewelry, or other items that could catch on machine controls should be avoided to prevent accidents. Full attention to safety gear ensures operators can work safely and effectively .

To safely mount and dismount the machine, always face the machine and maintain a three-point contact with steps and handrails. Controls should not be used as handholds, and operators must never jump from the machine or mount/dismount while it is moving. Slippery conditions on platforms, steps, and handrails should be noted to prevent falls .

Following safety instructions is essential to avoid personal injury and machine damage. Incorrect operation or neglect of safety protocols can lead to accidents, equipment malfunction, or even fatal incidents. Safety signs and messages contain vital precautions that help operators understand potential hazards and how to mitigate them. Compliance ensures the machine's longevity and prevents unauthorized modifications that could impair functionality or safety .

The manuals consist of three main components: the Technical Manual (Operational Principle), the Technical Manual (Troubleshooting), and the Workshop Manual. The Technical Manual (Operational Principle) provides technical information needed for the operations and activation of all devices and systems. The Technical Manual (Troubleshooting) focuses on operational performance tests and troubleshooting procedures. The Workshop Manual contains technical information required for maintenance and repair of the machine, including tools and devices needed for maintenance, maintenance standards, and procedural guidance for removal, installation, assembly, and disassembly .

The safety alert symbol is used to alert the reader to the potential for personal injury or machine damage. It is accompanied by signal words to designate the degree or level of hazard: 'DANGER' indicates an imminently hazardous situation which will result in death or serious injury if not avoided; 'WARNING' indicates a potentially hazardous situation which could result in death or serious injury; 'CAUTION' denotes a potentially hazardous situation that may result in minor or moderate injury. 'IMPORTANT' indicates a situation that could damage the machine, and 'NOTE' offers supplementary technical information .

To prevent rollaway accidents, park on level ground whenever possible, lower the bucket or tools to the ground, run the engine at slow idle without load to cool down for 5 minutes, stop the engine, remove the key, and engage the pilot control shut-off lever. Additionally, block both tracks and lower the bucket, thrusting the teeth into the ground when parking on a grade to prevent movement .
