The Town Council in Center City will start a tree-planting program to beautify parts
of the town. The plan calls for planting 2,000 trees. Below are three types of trees
that have been recommended and are available for planting:
The Town Council voted to budget $100,000 to buy the 2,000 trees. Both the
Parks Department, which will purchase and plant the trees, and the Town Council,
agree that there should be a mix of all three types of trees.
The towns people were also surveyed about which types of trees to plant. The
result of the survey show that cherry trees are a town favorite, so the Town Council
has recommended that at least half of the trees planted be cherry trees.
