Concrete Pump Truck Valve Guide

1. This document provides information about load sensing systems for concrete pump trucks. It describes the basic principles and components of load sensing for constant delivery pumps and variable displacement pumps. 2. Key components of the load sensing connection block are described, including a 3-way compensator, damping screw, check valves, relief valve, and filter. Flow diagrams illustrate how hydraulic pressure and flow work in the system. 3. The main parts of the system are discussed in more detail, including the relief valve and different types of damping screws that control the speed of hydraulic flow and signal cancellation.

1. Basic principle

1. PSL valve
- PSL valve has load sensing function and control the pressure automatically.
- Application : Constant delivery pump

2. PSV valve
- PSV valve doesn’t have load sensing function. So it needs the parts to control
the pressure(It can be applied).
- Application : Variable displacement pump.

2. Load sensing
◈ Constant delivery pump

◈ Load sensing connection block

① 3-way compensator
- It controls the whole system.
② Differential pressure spring
-It keeps the pressure of input and output at 9 bar.

◈ Load sensing connection block

③ Damping screw : When the valve is opened or closed,
it prevents the impact by hydraulic and makes the
cylinder movement be soft.
④ This check valve has a spring to reduce the hydraulic
flow speed. Initially, the hydraulic flow is fast so the
hydraulic release fast. Afterward, hydraulic pressure is
low. And then the valve will be closed. At that time the
hydraulic flows through orifice so the hydraulic flow is
slow and release the hydraulic slowly.
(Spring tension : 20 bar)
⑤ The check valve control the input signal speed. When
the hydraulic signal goes into the valve, the check
valve will be opened and hydraulic flow goes fast.

⑥ Relief valve : It is limited maximum pressure.
⑦ Filter : It filter out the foreign object of pilot oil to control
the spool.

◈ Variable displacement pump

◈ Load sensing at pump

① Oil flow is not constant and it is
controlled at pump.
② It supplies the oil by load sensing,
so it uses the energy efficiently.

3. Main part
◈ Relief valve

◈ Relief valve
① Relief valve controls maximum
pressure of the system.
② When you choose the relief valve,
we recommend to choose the
relief valve over 10% ~15%
maximum pressure compared to
limit pressure. Because it
controls the pressure following oil
flow graph. If you fit at limit
pressure, it works below limit
pressure.
③ The relief pressure is different by
oil flow.
④ The oil flow of relief valve is
controlled by spring tension.

3. Main part
◈ Dampening screw – S type

1) S – type
- When the oil flow is supplied at LS-line, dampening screw supplies the hydraulic fast.
- When the oil flow releases at LS-line, oil flow is fast initially, because the check valve is opened by high
pressure, after then oil flow is slow, if the check valve is closed.

It will be
opened at high
pressure.

◈ Dampening screw – B type

2) B – type
- When the oil flow is supplied and released at LS-line, dampening screw supplies the hydraulic slow.

3. Main part
◈ Dampening screw – G type

3) G – type
- When the oil flow is supplied at LS-line, dampening screw supplies the hydraulic fast.
- When the oil flow releases at LS-line, oil flow is slow, because it flows through the orifice.
