During the last few years, the Bogota International
Book Fair has demonstrated the importance of the
publishing industry in a country like Colombia, where
news of war, corruption and political disputes flood
the traditional and independent media it Bogota Book Fair was in 1988, in
Corferias.
*In 2007 the twentieth version of the fair
was organized. That same year, the city of
Bogota was named World Book Capital by
Unesco
*In 2011, a new record of visits to the fair
was achieved, with Ecuador as the guest
of honor and various writers presenting
their publications, only surpassed in 2015
when Macondo was the guest of honor, in
homage to Gabriel Garcia Marquez.
