protection rather to measure the dose received by individual to ensure safety
8. Whether the workers have been informed that prior to entering radiation area
they have to wear TLD badge at chest level (and wrist badge, if applicable)
9. Whether the workers have been informed that if they have to use Lead Apron
(in Diagnostic X-ray practice), they have to use TLD BELOW LEAD
APRON
10. Whether the workers have been informed that if the TLD Badge is left
inadvertently in radiation area, RSO/Licensee should be intimated promptly
11. Whether the workers have been informed about the radiation free area where
TLD has to be stored after their work in radiation area
12. Whether there is provision to penalise the worker for misuse of the TLD
badge
13. Whether RSO/Licensee know that if any TLD Badge was left inadvertently
in radiation area (refer 10), the badge is sent promptly to PMS Lab for
URGENT processing and copy of the letter is marked to AERB.
14. Whether RSO being the safety supervisor monitors periodically that the
workers are using TLD badges properly while working in radiation area
15. Whether a staff is identified to ensure whether the workers are storing the
TLD Badges at designated radiation free area after their work
16. Whether a staff is identified for collecting all TLD badges after the
monitoring period and sending back to PMS Lab for processing
17. Whether it is ensured that all the TLD cards received are sent back to PMS
lab for processing without leaving behind a few TLD cards
18. Whether RSO ensure receipt of Dose Report from the PMS Lab, verifies the
dose records for initiating radiation safety measures, if required
19. Whether Dose Records of the workers are informed to them periodically
20. Whether the Dose Reports are properly maintained in the institution
