The document discusses children's rights as outlined by the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) and actions taken by Bahrain to protect children. The UNCRC addresses fundamental rights like life, food, water, education, and protection from abuse. Children should have the same benefits and rights, regardless of their gender, race, religion, or

any other status. These rights are known as children's rights. The United Nations General
Assembly passed the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) into
international law in 1989. The UNCRC addresses the fundamental rights of children and
establishes global minimum requirements for how kids should be treated (Save The Children).

As a starting point, the United Nations Convention discusses many of the rights of children in
this way, including the right to life, which means that children are entitled to live in a safe and
clean environment, under the supervision of their grandparents or other adults who are
responsible for their welfare. To achieve their maximum potential as adults, every kid should be
taught to read, write, and count as well as develop their mental and physical skills. Another
right is the right to food, which states that every child is entitled to eat enough nutritious food
to remain healthy. Water is another right that children have, along with a clean environment, a
nutritious diet, and adequate restroom facilities. Moreover, the right to identification includes
the right of every child to a name, nationality, and knowledge of his or her ancestors. Also,
children have the right to express themselves respectfully, obtain information, and participate in
decisions that affect them. Last but not least, every child has the right to live in a safe and
nurturing environment. Violence against children includes physical and mental abuse,
exploitation, and enslavement (Global Teacher Prize, 2018).

There are several ways to safeguard kids from being physically, emotionally, or sexually abused.
Raising awareness of abuse among children and adults, providing families with education and
support resources, and ensuring that community institutions are secure, kid-friendly spaces are
just a few of the prevention tactics. It is crucial to follow the correct steps if abuse is suspected
or reported in order to safeguard the kid and hold the offender accountable (School of Social
Science, 2016). Bahrain has implemented a variety of policies, such as the creation of the "Child
Protection Center" to assist children who have been abused by family members or the wider
public. They consist of counseling, therapy, and social assistance. Establishing a 24-hour-toll-free
hotline for reporting sexual assault, child abuse, and carelessness. Starting the Batelco
Childhood Care Home, which provides services to abused children up to the age of 15.
Facilitating the process for kids and their families by scheduling a preliminary hearing that takes
place in a private location. Moreover, setting up family counselling groups and programs for
teenagers and children all-round the kingdom of Bahrain. Ultimately, it would be created a
National Commission for Children comprising representatives from the public and private
sectors (Abdulla, 2023).
I believe that the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child has had a tremendous impact on
children and families worldwide. A framework was established to ensure government policies
are adopted and initiatives are implemented to promote children's well-being, raising
awareness of children's rights and preserving them. The rights and needs of children must be
respected and met, although considerable effort must be made in order to accomplish
this. Advocacy and action are necessary to address the various issues facing children, such as
poverty, prejudice, and violence.

In conclusion, The UNCRC has resulted in enormous advances in the lives of children across the
world, such as expanded access to school, improved healthcare, and legal protection against
discrimination and exploitation. Yet, considerable effort needs to be done to guarantee that all
children have access to their rights, particularly in underdeveloped nations. And to ensure the
safety of children, Bahrain published Child Law No. (37) in 2012 to serve as the basis for all
legislation concerning the protection and well-being of children (Abdulla, 2023).
