V. GENERAL REFLECTION
The DepEd National Learning Camp is an opportunity for both teachers and students to engage in a unique learning
experience outside of the traditional classroom setting. Here are the benefits and suggestions that I’ve observed in
the duration of this learning camp.
Professional Development. Teachers can enhance their teaching skills and gain new knowledge especially
in multiple intelligence through this experience and interactions with other educators. However, DepEd
should also provide additional webinars, trainings, or face to face seminars that will provide additional
knowledge and teaching strategies that can be used in the classroom or in learning camps. These activities
can also be used in the face to face or regular classroom setting since most of the students nowadays are
progressivist and pragmatist learners. They learn more if they explore and manipulate objects or moving.
Experential Learning. Teachers can participate with colleagues in hands-on activities during the LAC session
allowing them to share ideas, resources, and best practices. However, it would be better if the teachers
planned the activities beforehand. Nevertheless, we can compile the effective activities we used and
prepare it for the next learning camp.
Renewed Motivation. The camp can reignite teachers’ passion for teaching by providing them with fresh
perspectives, innovative teaching methods, and inspiration from fellow educators.
Enhanced learning for students. Students can engage in interactive and immersive learning experiences
that go beyond the traditional classroom environment. We all know that with the presented data from the
last PISA that we should focus on the application skills of the students and that’s also the purpose of this
learning camp. As an educator, let’s be an advocate of the theory of multiple intelligence, progressivism
and pragmatism. Let’s use this opportunity to reflect and check our purpose in this field of our job and that
is to improve the abilities of the students for their life long learning. Let’s focus more on the activities that
enable the students to apply the acquired concepts into real life situations and make them realize that
change is constant and they should be able to cope with it. Examples are the local Filipino games such as
pasahan ng tubig and trip to Jerusalem. We can also use other activities such as word search, tic tac toe,
family feud. It may seem that these are simple games but if we enhance it, it will be an immersive
experience with the young learners.
Broadened horizons. Students can gain a broader understanding of the world, different cultures, and
diverse perspectives through exposure of variety of learning activities and interactions with students from
different regions. As an educator, let’s not just focus on what’s in the learning content but also broaden our
horizons to improve the skills of our young learners.
Overall, the National Learning Camp provides a platform for both teachers and learners to expand our knowledge,
skills, and networks fostering a positive impact on our personal and professional growth. In the tapestry of
education, we are the vibrant threads that weave dreams into reality. Let’s stay strong, stay focused, and keep our
hearts to the incredible transformation we are fostering. The journey might be tough, but so are we. Keep our
spirits high and our determination unwavering. The impact we are making is immeasurable and will echo through
