1.4 SUBMITTALS
A. Submit under provisions of Section 01 30 00 - Administrative Requirements.
B. Product Data: Manufacturer's data sheets for each product specified, including but not
limited to:
1. Performance characteristics.
2. Preparation instructions and recommendations.
3. Storage and handling requirements and recommendations.
4. Installation Instructions.
C. Shop Drawings: Provide shop drawings showing details including but not limited to locations,
components, anchorage requirements, accessories, tolerances, clearances and layout of lift
equipment.
D. Selection Samples: For each assembly type, two complete sets of samples representing
manufacturer's full range of available material finishes.
E. Verification Samples: For each finish product specified, two samples representing actual
material finishes.
1.5 QUALITY ASSURANCE
A. Single Source Requirements: To the greatest extent possible, provide products specified in
this section from a single manufacturer.
B. Manufacturer's Qualifications: Successfully engaged in the manufacture of products
specified in this section for at least 5 years.
C. Installer Qualifications: Successfully engaged in installation of systems of similar type and
scope and approved by manufacturer.
1. Welders certified in accordance with requirements of AWS D1.1.
1.6 DELIVERY, STORAGE AND HANDLING
A. Deliver, store and handle materials and products in strict compliance with manufacturer's
instructions and recommendations and industry standards.
B. Store products indoors and under cover in manufacturer's or fabricator's original containers
and packaging, with labels clearly identifying product name and manufacturer. Protect from
damage.
1.7 PROJECT CONDITIONS
A. Maintain environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, and ventilation) within limits
recommended by manufacturer for optimum results. Do not install products under

environmental conditions outside manufacturer's absolute limits.
1.8 SEQUENCING AND SCHEDULING
A. Conference: Convene a pre-installation conference to establish procedures to maintain
optimum working conditions and to coordinate this work with related and adjacent work.
1. Review hoistway, electrical, and other requirements with appropriate representatives.
1.9 WARRANTY
A. Manufacturer's Warranty: Standard limited warranty against defects in materials and
manufacturing.
1. Warranty Period: For racks, 10 years.

PART 3 EXECUTION
3.1 EXAMINATION AND PREPARATION
A. Prepare substrates using the methods recommended by the manufacturer for achieving best
result for the substrates under project conditions.
B. Do not proceed with installation until substrates have been prepared using the methods
recommended by the manufacturer and deviations from manufacturer's recommended
tolerances are corrected. Commencement of installation constitutes acceptance of
conditions.
C. If preparation is the responsibility of another installer, notify Architect in writing of deviations
from manufacturer's recommended installation tolerances and conditions.
3.2 INSTALLATION
A. Install products in accordance with manufacturer's instructions and in proper relationship
with adjacent construction.
B. Compliance: Welders certified in accordance with requirements of AWS D1.1.
C. Adjustment: Adjust lift for proper operation and clean unit thoroughly.
D. Demonstration and Training: Instruct Owner in operation procedures and maintenance.
E. Maintenance: Establish a program of maintenance in accordance with manufacturer's
instructions.
3.3 CLEANING AND PROTECTION
A. Touch-up, repair or replace damaged products before Substantial Completion.
B. Protect installed products and finishes from damage during construction.
