UKPSF Self-Audit Tool Guide

The document provides instructions for using the UKPSF Self-Audit Tool to map skills and experience to the UK Professional Standards Framework (UKPSF) dimensions of practice. Users are instructed to make notes of examples from their own practice for each dimension, then use those examples to rate their practice in each dimension by placing an X in the appropriate band of competency on the self-audit wheel. The results can then be used to inform a guidance and support interview and development plan.

How

to  use  the  UKPSF  Self-‐Audit  Tool

The  Self-‐Audit  tool  aims  to  help  you  map  your  skills  &  experience  in  rela:on  to  each  of  the  UKPSF  Dimensions  of  Prac:ce.

Steps:
1. Make  sure  you  understand  the  dimensions  –  UKPSF  workshops  help  with  this
2. Start  with  the  Areas  of  Ac:vity  (A1-‐A5)  and  make  notes  of  examples  in  each  area  from  your  own  prac:ce.    Add  an  X  as  appropriate  to
note  other  dimension((s)  which  these  examples  illustrate  (e.g.  A1  -‐  Module  Design  (K1,  V4)  –  again  UKPSF  workshops  help  with  this
3. Go  to  the  Self-‐Audit  wheel  and  for  each  Dimension  on  the  wheel,  use  this  analysis  to  rate  your  prac:ce  by  placing  an  X  in  the  relevant
band  (e.g.  A2  X  in  Third  Ring;  K4  X  in  Inner  Ring).  You  can  use  the  final  sheet  for  notes  of  prac:ce  that  exemplifies  your  judgements.
4. Bring  this  to  your  Guidance  &  Support  Interview  to  inform  your  development  plan.
