In this lesson you will learn about the meaning of adjectives,
classification of adjectives and how to arrange adjectives in a
series in sentences.
ADJECTIVES
Adjectives are words that describe nouns and pronouns.
They talks about the kind, color, or number of a noun or a pronoun
Examples: sweet potatoes, long gown, green grass, a lot of goods,
huge tank, wise man.
Classification of Adjectives:
1. Number - answers the questions how much and how many and
describes the quantity of nouns. Words like many, more, several, a
lot of, half and others are some examples.
The article a and an can be a number adjective also referring to
singular nouns.
Examples:
He gave me several post cards.
They bought two pairs of shoes.
2. Kind or Quality- describes the quality or characteristics of nouns
and pronouns.
Examples:
She has a beautiful smile.
Mother cooks delicious food every day.
3. Color- tells the color of nouns or pronouns.
Examples:
Ana wears her favorite red skirt.
All I do is pray while looking at the blue sky.

When several adjectives are used in one sentence, the order of
adjectives is as follows: number, kind or quality and color.
Example:
1. We wanted a grey metal table.
2. They bought a new red car.
