The using of Smartphone at School

Nowadays students always bring their mobile phones everywhere and anytime
including to school. Somehow, mobile phones are helpful sometimes, but it also
can bring bad effects for their studying at school.

Firstly, mobile phones make students not focus on their studying at school. I
personally think that, if students bring their mobile phones, it will be no doubt that
they will play their mobile phones at studying time. For example, a student plays a
game in his mobile phone during the class. He is ignoring the teacher and his
obligation to study at school.

Secondly, I believe that mobile phones make students dependent. As we know

that mobile phones are completed with so many things such as calculator,
dictionary, and Google. It is afraid that students will depend on their mobile
phones, for example a student needs to answer a math question. To make it easy,
he uses his calculator in his phone. This will make him become too dependent to
use his phone just for simple math question.

Thirdly, mobile phones make students become unsocial. When students got their
mobile phones on their hands, they are not able to socialize with their
surroundings. They may sit together in a group of friends, but they do not really
speak to each other. Excessive device use can lead to feelings of being
disconnected when we spend time with friends, or even family.

Mobile phones may be helpful for students, but there are a lot of bad effects that
needed to be paid attention on. We cannot concentrate in class, cannot do simple
math since we depend on our phones too much, and many more. Finally, based on
my arguments above, I personally conclude that mobile phones should be banned
for students at school.
The using of Smartphone at School
Technology has come to long ways and mobile phones have become far more
advanced than few decades back. They have become more of a necessity than a
fancy item. Even students can be seen carrying this device, either for chatting or
browsing on the internet. It is undeniable that they have become a part of their
everyday life and banning mobile phone for students in school is not sensible.
There are several reasons why mobiles phone should be allowed in school.

Firstly, most students nowadays have their own mobile phones as they are getting
cheaper, and become very handy and useful as a communication device. In case
of some emergency, students can swiftly call their parents or helpline numbers like
the police. In reverse, parents also can inform their children at school easily.

Secondly, if students need something from home, they can call and ask someone at
home to bring it. It is very useful in case of homework or school project is left at
home. On the other hand, if the students miss their school bus and any other
transport is not available after school, they can call home and ask to be picked up.
They can also inform their parents that they are going to go home late in case of
some extra class or doing a group project.

Thirdly, students should not only be allowed to carry mobile phones but
encouraged to wisely use this smart mobile device. They can use their phones as
massive online resources of knowledge by browsing news websites or educational
portal. Additionally, a low priced smartphone costs less than a common laptop.
Hence, parents would be easily providing a smartphone to their children.

Lastly, mobile phones can help students to avoid missing any point from the
lesson. During a classroom session, it is very much possible for students to miss
out certain crucial points. Here, mobile phones can be used to record the teaching
process and playback the entire lesson anytime. Hence, they will not miss any
point and understand the lesson better. However, only a certain age or class
students are allowed to use mobile phones for this purpose, for example, ninth
grade or higher.

Based on the several facts above, mobile phones can be beneficial for students in
school. Therefore, the teacher should show them how to use mobile phones with
caution and embrace modern technology to make a better, captivating teaching
and learning process.
