Power Generation using Speed Breaker
Power generation using speed breakers is a recent concept that has been explored to

passing over speed breakers. The following literature review highlights some of the key studies
on power generation using speed breakers.
One of the earliest studies on power generation using speed breakers was conducted by
Prathap et al. (2012), who proposed a mechanism to generate electricity by using a hydraulic
system. The system consisted of a hydraulic cylinder, a pressure relief valve, and a hydraulic
motor. The study concluded that the proposed mechanism was efficient in generating electricity
from speed breakers.
Another study by Suman et al. (2015) proposed a mechanism to generate electricity
using a rack and pinion system, which was connected to a generator. The study concluded that
the proposed mechanism was capable of generating electricity from speed breakers and could
be used in urban areas to reduce energy consumption.
Several studies have investigated the feasibility of generating electricity from speed
breakers. One such study by Bade et al. (2017) proposed a mechanical energy harvester using
a rack and pinion mechanism. The results showed that the harvester was able to generate up to
12 Watts of power from a single vehicle passing over the speed breaker.
Several studies have also investigated the potential for scaling up power generation
using speed breakers. For instance, a study by Bera et al. (2019) proposed a modular design
for speed breaker energy harvesters, which could be easily scaled up to generate more power.
The results showed that the modular design was able to generate up to 72 watts of power from
a single vehicle.

a regenerative braking system. The system consisted of a regenerative braking unit, a battery,
and an inverter. The study concluded that the proposed mechanism was efficient in generating
electricity and had the potential to be used in areas where electricity supply is limited.
Overall, the research conducted so far suggests that power generation using speed
breakers is a promising source of energy. While the amount of power generated from a single
speed breaker is relatively small, the potential for widespread implementation of this technology
could result in a significant contribution to global energy needs. Additionally, power generation
