Session 2 - Programme Outcome

This document outlines key changes between the EAC 2020 and EAC 2024 standards for graduate attributes and knowledge profiles for engineering programs. Some of the major changes include aligning with the 2021 IEA GAPC Version 4, reducing the number of graduate attributes from 12 to 11 by combining attributes related to engineering and society/environment, and emphasizing critical thinking, innovation, emerging technologies, and lifelong learning. The definitions of graduate attributes and knowledge profiles were also updated in EAC 2024.

Definition – EAC 2020 vs EAC 2024
2020
Programme Outcomes describe what students are expected to know and be able to
perform or attain by the time of graduation. These relate to the skills, knowledge, and
behaviour that students acquire through the programme.

2024
Programme Outcomes (PO) are statements that describe what students are expected
to know and be able to perform or attain by the time of graduation. These relate to the
skills, knowledge, and behaviour that students acquire through the programme.
