This period is also called the Stone Age. The period is classified into three eras. These eras are the Paleolithic, Mesolithic,
and Neolithic. Madhya Pradesh hosts sites belonging to all these eras but the majority of sites are associated with the
‘Mesolithic period. Important sites of this period are mentioned below.
Adamgarh
Location: Hoshangabad district, On the banks of Narmada river in Madhya Pradesh
