Dear Parents:
Grosset & Dunlap is excited to bring you a new series of workbooks for
children. These workbooks will feature popular characters and are
designed to help children learn to recognize letters and numbers and
learn to read and write while having fun, too!
Here are a few tips for working with children while using this workbook:
• Choose a quiet spot away from the noise of the television, radio, or
other distractions, and be sure to give the child your complete attention.
• Help the child read and understand the directions for each activity, then
let her set the pace. Use encouraging words to help her along without
pressuring her or giving away the answers.
• Support the child's efforts, and allow him to work independently if
he is ready.
• If a child truly does not feel up to the work, don't push. Let her put it
aside and come back to it at another time.
• Remember to make learning fun! Reward the child with the colorful
stickers included inside this workbook.
