KASEMAKE 10.0 Hardware Requirements
The required PC specification for running KASEMAKE 10.0 is:

Minimum (2D)
Intel Pentium 3 1.0GHz
256MB RAM
500Mb – 1Gb available disk space

Minimum Recommended (2D/3D)


Intel Core 2 Duo 2.8GHz or above
2.00GB RAM
256Mb Display Adapter which fully supports MS DirectX 9.0c or above
500Mb – 1Gb available disk space

or

Recommended (2D/3D)
Intel Core 2 Quad-Core 2.33GHz or above
3.00GB or 4.00GB RAM
512Mb Display Adapter which fully supports MS DirectX 9.0c or above
500Mb – 1Gb available disk space

KASEMAKE 10.0 is fully compatible with the following Operating Systems:


Windows XP
Windows Vista
Windows 7

If you want to create lots of 3D work then either of the recommended specifications is
required.

USER ACCESS CONTROL


If you are running on Windows Vista or Windows 7 you will need to switch off UAC
prior to installation of KASEMAKE 10.0.

UAC can be changed through Windows Control Panel by accessing the user account
control settings. An example of how to change UAC for Windows 7 follows.
Windows Vista works in a similar way but you only have the option of switching UAC
on or off. For our purposes UAC should be switched off.

Changing UAC Setting on Windows 7


Click on Control Panel then User Accounts then User Accounts again. You should
now have the following window:-

Choose Change User Account Control Settings. The following window will appear:-

Hold down the mouse button on the slider and drag it to Never notify. Finally click on
OK. Finally, close the Control Panel dialog. UAC will now be switched off.

KASEMAKE 10.0 Installation Instructions


Prior to installation of KASEMAKE 10.0, you should make a backup of existing /
earlier versions of KASEMAKE and pay particular attention that you have backed up
any database (MDB) files you are using as well as your drawing (AGD) files. You
should also make a system restore point
(START > ALL PROGRAMS > ACCESSORIES > SYSTEM TOOLS > SYSTEM
RESTORE

Insert CD and run the KASEMAKE install from the auto run menu.
When it has finished, run KaseMakeMigrate tool from the Start > All programs >
KASEMAKE 10 menu

14 The installation will now migrate your files, shortcuts and other settings from
any previous KASEMAKE version.

15 The source folder should point to the location where KASEMAKE 95 is


installed. If you would like to migrate from a different version of KASEMAKE,
change the source folder location and the version number.

16 Tick the files or settings you would like to copy across to KASEMAKE 10.0 and
click NEXT.

17 Tick the files or locations you would like to copy across to KASEMAKE 10.0
and click NEXT.

18 Click FINISH.

19 Launch KASEMAKE, Go to Windows > Close All, then Help > Register
ActiveX
20 If you have any problems with registration errors on running in Windows 7,
please try the following: Close KASEMAKE, click the start button, and in the
‘search programs and files’ box type AXUNREG, and click the icon that
appears. Let the routine run, and then in the same box type AXREG and click
the icon. Now run KASEMAKE and all errors should have cleared.
