What application software do you believe would you compliment their POS system?
Square POS can be the best available software for Kimball’s to assist them with their
operations. Square POS is a well-known system, and it stands for easy use and sufficient
features and good support team. Some of the key features are menu customized, per-item
sales tracking, serves all business size. Square POS will allow the restaurant to make cashless
payments. By implementing square POS Kimball’s will save more time and reduce labor.
2. Research various restaurant point-of-sale systems. Can Kimball’s use any packaged
productivity software or integrate with this software to help manage the restaurant?
3. Tyler has heard a great deal about the differences between Windows and Mac-based
software for graphics and artistic work. Now that you have two new Windows-based
personal computers for the restaurant, should you consider additional hardware
components or software to work on their graphs needs?
I think it’s not important to consider additional hardware but can have a software to work on
graphs needed. Kimball’s have already invested in two new windows software’s so the cost
must be considered and it’s better not to make it complicated for staffs to use new software.

1. Liz is very cautious about using past information for ordering food from suppliers.
She never has done that and the restaurant seems to be doing well. Discuss your
rationale with her relating to a better approach to this activity.
Liz always ordered food from her old supplier, the order based on the food storage areas,
freezers and refrigerators. She is careful about marking the delivery dates of fresh items so
that she does not use the spoiled products. But she won’t be able to use this method when
they move to new location, because they will have more customers to dine-in and the quantity
will differ from the old location. I suggest Liz to install a POS system to keep track of
inventory and daily sales by which she can know what material to be ordered.
2. What advice would you give to Tyler to help him with the development of the
initial website for the new location? What would you suggest to help with the
marketing and promotion of the new location (from previous chapters)?
As Tyler expanded and relocated, he must modernize and redevelop the website. He can
attract the customers by offering customer reward points when food is ordered online. He
need to update all information including the timing of restaurant and the new location. He can
add menu to the website and exciting offers. Tyler can also use social media as a way of
marketing and promoting his restaurant. As nowadays people use more of social media Tyler
can send emails, SMS or post offers on social media. Tyler can ask his marketing and sales
team to send surveys to the customers so that it will help him to make better changes in
restaurant in future.
3. Can you use the initial website design to help the restaurant? Or do you think you
need to scale up to a larger website solution to gain effectiveness?
I think it’s better to use the initial website than to scale up to a longer website, as having a
new website will cost them more its better if they upgrade the old website with more new
features.
