Objective of the Course
This course is designed with an objective of inculcating practical skills within students by
understanding their responsibility as an active citizen within their local priorities with projects to
help their communities. Students are required to develop the passion for serving humanity by
closely working with the deprived and vulnerable groups of their communities.
Description of Assignment 1
Assignment 1 is about writing a proposal of the project/volunteer work selected by you. The
purpose of this assignment is to give plan or blueprint of the project or volunteer work. After the
approval of the proposal, you will execute the tasks in the chosen organization and write its report
accordingly.
Overview of Project Proposal
For this project, you and four other students will form a group and select a topic related to a welfare
organization. You will then write a project proposal outlining the details of your project. As a
group, you will also design five activities to be performed with the deprived individuals of the
welfare organization. Each student will be responsible for designing one activity. A project
proposal for active citizenship psychology in a welfare organization can be divided into parts:
1. Introduction (Student 1)
This section will provide an overview of the project, its purpose, and its significance. It should
also include the background information on the welfare organization where the project will be
conducted.
2. Literature Review (Student 2)
This section will provide a comprehensive review of the relevant literature on active citizenship,
psychology, and welfare organizations. It should include both theoretical and empirical literature
that supports the project's objectives.
3. Methodology (Student 3)
This section will describe the methodology used in the project. This section should also discuss
the ethical considerations that need to be considered during the project.
2
4. Timeline (Student 4)
This section will provide a detailed timeline for the project. The timeline should provide a clear
and realistic schedule for the project's completion, including milestones and deadlines.
5. Expected Outcomes (Student 5)
This section will outline the expected outcomes of the project, including the benefits to the welfare
organization and the participants. It should also describe how the project's success will be
measured and evaluated.
In addition to the project proposal, each student in the group can design an activity to be performed
with the deprived individuals of the welfare organization. These activities can be based on the
project's objectives and should be designed to engage the deprived individuals in active citizenship
and psychology-related activities. Each activity should be clearly described, including its
objectives, materials needed, and a step-by-step guide on how to conduct the activity.
6. Activities
Activity 1 (Student 1)
Activity 2 (Student 2)
Activity 3 (Student 3)
Activity 4 (Student 4)
Activity 5 (Student 5)
As a group, you will need to work collaboratively to design the project proposal and activities.
Each student will be responsible for designing one activity, but all members of the group should
be involved in the development of the proposal.

Sample Activities for Project Welfare organization
Activity 1: "My Community" - In this activity, deprived individuals will be encouraged to think
about their community and what it means to them. They will be given a blank map of their
community and asked to fill it in with the places that are important to them, such as their homes,
the orphanage, schools, and parks.
Activity 2: "Storytelling" - In this activity, deprived individuals will be encouraged to tell stories
about their experiences and share them with the group. This will help them develop their
communication skills and build their self-esteem.
Activity 3: "Mindfulness and Relaxation" - In this activity, deprived individuals will be taught
mindfulness and relaxation techniques that they can use to reduce stress and anxiety. This will help
them develop coping skills and improve their overall well-being.
Activity 4: "Art Therapy" - In this activity, deprived individuals will be given art supplies and
encouraged to express themselves through art. This will help them process their emotions and build
their self-confidence.
Activity 5: "Community Service" - In this activity, deprived individuals will be encouraged to give
back to their community by performing a small service project, such as picking up litter in a park
or visiting a nearby nursing home. This will help them develop a sense of responsibility and foster
their active citizenship skills.
