C isco order fulfillm ent operates on an assem b le-to-order m odel, wh ich allows C isco to m eet th e
specific tech nology needs of C ustom ers/ P artners, as well as control C isco inventory levels. I t
includes th ree core m anufacturing processes: dem and planning, sch eduling, and production.
Demand Planning
I n an assem b le-to-order environm ent, dem and planning sets th e pace and th e success of th e
outcom e with in th e m anufacturing process. D em and planning sim ply m eans th at C isco m ust
purch ase th e appropriate am ount of com ponents with in a specific B usiness U nit ( B U ) to b e ab le to
m eet custom er purch asing req uirem ents. F orecasts from th e individual B U s are used to calculate
th e dem and for specific products. Once th e dem and planning h as b een com pleted for a specific
B U , th e sch eduling process can b egin.
S c h edu ling
S ch eduling is th e process of apply ing sch eduled sh ip dates to th e order lines. Once an order is
b ook ed b y C isco, it is eligib le for th e sch eduling process. Th e sch eduled sh ip date is assigned
b ased on th e A vailab le to P rom ise ( A TP ) E ngine. Th e A TP sim ply refers to th e am ount of a specific
product th at is availab le and will b e req uired to fulfill a sh ip set.
● I t is im portant th at C ustom ers/ P artners utiliz e th e L ead Tim es Tool wh en entering req uest
dates into th e sy stem . A ll products will h ave som e lead tim e value unless it is on N P H ( N ew
P roduct H old) , in wh ich case a release date will b e given. Th e release date is th e date th at
C isco can start to calculate lead tim e on th e product. C urrent B eing R evised ( C B R ) is no
longer a valid value for lead tim e.
● I f dem and is ex ceeding supply and C isco cannot m eet th e target lead tim e for th e product
fam ily , lead tim e will b e sh own as a date range.

Th e C isco goal is to alway s m eet th e original sch eduled sh ip date, b ut th ere are circum stances
wh en sh ip dates m ust b e postponed due to issues occurring during th e b uild cy cle. U nderstanding
C ustom ers’/ P artners’ concerns, C isco Manufacturing h as b een tak ing im m ediate steps to ensure
th at C ustom ers/ P artners will receive 4 8 h ours prior notice if a sch eduled sh ip date m ust b e
recom m itted.
A ll recom m it dates will b e reflected in th e Order S tatus Tool wh en a recom m it h as occurred, and if
C ustom ers/ P artners use th e N otification Tool, th e recom m itted dates will b e sent via e-m ail to th e
designated contact on th e order. S ch eduled sh ip date ch anges due to h olds, conversions, etc. are
not considered recom m its.

Wh ich is th e correct sh ip date?
C urrent sh ip date: I f a line h as b een recom m itted b y C isco, th e new recom m itted sh ip date will
sh ow as th e “current sh ip date” in Order S tatus Tool. Th e current sh ip date is th e newly sch eduled
sh ip date.
F or advanced notice of wh en C isco recom m its an order, please sign up for access to th e
N otification Tool.
R ec o mmit Pr o b lem: I s th ere any way to give m e m ore notice wh en products are recom m itted? I
often get less th an 24 h ours notice, and som etim es none at all.
Wh ile C isco alway s tries to m eet original sch eduled sh ip dates, if a recom m it is necessary , C isco
will provide 4 8 h ours notice. P lease note th at any ch anges or h olds placed on an ex isting order can
cause sch eduled sh ip dates to b e delay ed, b ut are not actual recom m its. Th erefore, y ou m ay not
receive notification in th ese instances.

1. G o to C isco.com and click th e “L og I n” link at th e top righ t side of page.
2. E nter y our C isco.com user I D and password and click OK to login.
3. C lick “Ordering” link on th e left, th en click th e “Ordering” link again at th e top of th e screen.
4 . C lick th e “L ead Tim es Tool” link under “P lace Order.” Th is will display th e L ead Tim es Tool
h om epage.
5 . D isplay estim ated product lead tim es in th ree easy steps:
a. S earch for “P roduct” and/ or “Options b y P roduct F am ily ” or “P roduct N um b er” and click
th e “S ub m it” b utton.
b . S elect th e desired P roducts and/ or Options using th e ch eck b ox es on th e left side, th en
click th e “N ex t” b utton.
c. Th e Total E stim ated L ead Tim e for th e selected P roducts and/ or Options is display ed with
an option to download th e inform ation to e-m ail or a file.
F or m ore details, C ustom ers/ P artners can access th e L ead Tim es Tool.

C ustom ers/ P artners can access th e Notification Tool from C isco.com . A fter logging in with a
C isco.com I D , go to O r der ing, select M anage O r der , and th en select th e N o t if ic at io n T o o l.
S u b s c r ib ing t o N o t if ic at io ns
Once C ustom ers/ P artners h ave accessed th e tool, th ey can sign up to receive notifications th rough
a variety of param eters. Th ey can m ak e th eir selections b y ch eck ing or unch eck ing th e b ox nex t to
th e notification nam e and th en click ing “S ave” at th e b ottom of th e page after th ey h ave m ade th eir
selections. B ased on th ese selections, th ey will b e sub scrib ed or unsub scrib ed im m ediately . Th ey
m ay ch ange sub scriptions at any tim e.

user’s notification settings and use th em as a tem plate for th eir own settings; or even
disab le th eir profile entirely .
