Standard Features
1 MAIN CASTINGS
Made of highest grade Meehanite Casting, in accordance
with ASTM specifications, Lagun Mills are built oversized

for increased durability and ruggedness. They outweigh
major competitors by nearly 1,000 lbs. (453kg)
Interchangability of column knee, saddle: Lagun is the
only factory worldwide that can offer full interchangability
of all castings. (The only pert different from machine to
machine is the gib length.)

A Lagun table is larger than most major competitors:
55¼” x 10” (1403 x 254mm). Better support for
larger parts.

Extra wide 23" (584mm) to provide excellent support.

There is no tilting or binding with the Lagun large table
and special way design.
4 LEADSCREWS
5 Rolled and ground to provide better accuracy and with a
high nickel content to improve durability. Adjustable
antibacklash nuts allow for compensation as the
machine ages.

5 UNIQUE TABLE LOCKS
Handles are spring-loaded to allow repositioning once

locked. This advanced design design clamps the table to
the saddle (does not push on the gib). This keeps the
saddle from distorting when locked.

6 HARDENED AND GROUND WAYS
The ways on a Lagun Mill are induction heat treated, then

precision ground. All Lagun Mills come standard with a
unique combination Dovetail / Square Y-axis way. This
offer a wider area for support and the benefit of a Dovetail
for maximum accuracy. This design is exclusive to Lagun
machines.

7 FLOOD COOLANT SYSTEM
Built in standard on all models. Allows for greater tool life
and higher speeds for improved finishes. One shot
lubrication to the ways and screws to ensure equal oiling
to all critical areas.
8 RIGID QUILL TRAVEL
At maximum quill travel, 3/4 of the total quill length is still
inside the housing, providing extra support and rigidity.

“SLOTTER” VERTICAL SHAPING
ATTACHMENT
The 3/4 HP vertical shaping head performs intricate
shapes. Rear mounted, may be swung into
place to perform light shaping operations.
Adjusted to any vertical or compound angle to the
table, can produce shapes which normally requires
special broach. It is a must in cases of blind holes.
It is mounted on the ram rear and can be rotated
180° to position it over the table for usage. 4”
