 Since 1992, the AFC company makes articles of tableware and utensils in olivewood.

We produce a large choice of spatulas, spoons, salad servers and cutlery. We also offer
a range of mills.

Located in the Balkanic peninsula, in the Albanian capital, Tirana, AFC is now a major actor
in the tableware sector. Supplier of many brands and wholesaler, our products are
exported to 72 countries.

Proud of our work and know-how, we introduce to you our new range in light olive wood,
Élégance.

All our wood is taken from an ecologic plantation with whom we have worked since the
beginning of AFC.

We receive our raw material directly from the plantation. They are direclty sent to us the
branches. These branches have a diameter very important.

These branches come from the necessary pruning process of the Olive Trees. There isn’t any
tree or branch which is cut only for our industry. The main reason of why we can have this
wood is to keep the trees healthy to produce more fruit. It’s very important for AFC to
maintain the biodiversity.

The olivewood, the perfect deal between Durability and Esthetism.
The light olivewood – or white olivewood – is located between the veined heart and the trunk.

The heart of the olive trees is an irregular heartwood, so the sapwood that represents the light olivewood has the same
technical characteristics.

The only difference we can see between the light olivewood and the veined one is only aesthetic.

The heart is satured of very dark vein on a wood so brown. The light olivewood will be with a creamy color, very soft, and
will have some veined disposed randomly on the product. Thanks of this, each product will be unique.

Utilisation advices :
Our olivewood products need to be maintained to insure the maximum lifetime of 10 years. If
the advices are not followed, we can’t insure the lifetime.

We preconise to the consumer to stock their products out of the light and the sun, in a dry
place.

Each product needs to be washed after each using. The washing can be made with a humid
sponge or with soap water and rinse with clean water. All products need to be dry after
washing.

Products are not made to be washed in the dishwasher.

To have the maximum time life, it’s necessary to oil the products almost all the months with a
vegetal oil as sunflower.

Fun Facts : environmental certificates.
Our raw material come from a plantation. No tree killed, no wood cut only for our industry and
our trees are minimum 100 years old !

Despite this, we are not eligible to the environment labels as FSC, PEFC… .

These labels are made to preserve the biodiversity and limited to the maximum the
deforestation.

Because our olive wood is taken from a plantation, only from the necessary pruning process,
and for the health of the tree, we are not concerning by the deforestation so, we can’t have any
label.
