PATTERN

Mecha
Note: This hat is worked in the round, from the bottom up. Directions are for the average head size of 22" – 23”
Finished measurement: approximately 6.5” wide x 9” tall.

Brim
With US 7 (4.5 mm) circular needles, CO 72 sts.
Join, place marker at beginning of round, and begin to work circularly, being careful not to twist your sts.
Round 1 - 10: * K1, P1 * around.

Body
Switch to US 9 (5.5 mm) circular needles.
Round 1: * P2, K3, P2, K10, K1FB * - 76 sts Round 10: * P2, K1, P1, K1, P2, K12 *
Round 2: * P2, K1, P1, K1, P2, K12 * Round 11: * P2, K3, P2, K12 *
Round 3: * P2, K3, P2, C6B, C6F * Round 12: * P2, K1, P1, K1, P2, K12 *
Round 4: * P2, K1, P1, K1, P2, K12 * Round 13: * P2, K3, P2, C6B, C6F *
Round 5: * P2, K3, P2, K12 *
Round 6: * P2, K1, P1, K1, P2, K12 * Repeat rounds 4 – 13 another 3 times, for a total

Decrease:
I was able to finish comfortably with circular needles.

Round 1: * K2, K2tog * - 57 sts.


Round 2: * K2tog, K1 * - 38 sts
Round 3: * K2tog * - 19 sts

Finish
Cut yarn, leaving a 12” tail.
Draw through remaining sitches, fasten and weave in ends. Add a pom if you wish!

With US 10 (6 mm) circular needles, CO 64 sts.
Join, place marker at beginning of round, and begin to work circularly, being careful not to twist your sts.
Round 1 - 9: * K1tbl, P1 * around.
Body
Switch to size US 11 (8 mm) circular needles.
Round 10: * P2, K3, P2, K8, K1FB * - 68 sts
Round 11: * P2, K1, P1, K1, P2, C5B, C5F *
Round 12: * P2, K3, P2, K10 *
Round 13: * P2, K1, P1, K1, P2, K10 *
Round 14: * P2, K3, P2, K10 *
Round 15: * P2, K1, P1, K1, P2, K10 * Repeat rounds 11 – 18 2 more times.
Round 16: * P2, K3, P2, K10 * Repeat rounds 11 – 16 again. You should have a
