Medical Clinic Start-up in Drumheller, Alberta.
1.0 Executive Summary (Naina)
2.0 Project Description: Establishing a Family Medical Clinic in Drumheller,
Alberta.
Better-Care Medical Services is excited to propose the establishment of a Family
Medical Clinic in Drumheller, Alberta. As a dedicated healthcare provider with a
commitment to improving community well-being, we recognize the pressing need for
accessible and comprehensive healthcare services in Drumheller, Alberta.
2.1 Introduction
Better-Care Medical Services, is a for-profit organization, dedicated to
improving healthcare accessibility in underserved communities. With a history of
successful community projects such as in Claresholm and Okotoks, we believe we are
well-suited to identify and address the pressing healthcare needs in Drumheller.
2.2 Problem/Need Statement
Drumheller is a small town in Alberta, Canada, with a population of around
8,000 people. The town is known for its unique landscape and world-famous dinosaur
museum (Jill, 2023). The Drumheller community faces a significant shortage of
accessible and comprehensive healthcare services, exacerbated by shortage of family
physicians, distance to existing clinics, demographic issues. Immediate attention is
crucial to prevent increased emergency room visits, delayed medical care and
eventually reduce mortality rates.
Our organization has conducted a needs assessment, indicating a substantial gap
in healthcare services. Evidence supports the effectiveness of a Family Medical
Clinic in addressing this gap. According to a CBC news article, there is currently a
shortage of family doctors in drumheller, Alberta, and it can be difficult to find clinics
taking on new patients (Bell, 2023). With our experienced team, we are well-
positioned to tackle this issue.
