Analyze and Give Opinion About the 2024 Indonesia’s National Election
Indonesia will have its general election. The purpose of the election is to
choose the country's next president, vice president, and members of the People
Consultative Assembly. Since elections have a direct impact on the destiny of the
country, they have always been extremely significant events for the entire society.
Ganjar Pranowo, Anies Baswedan, and Prabowo Subianto are the three candidates
running for president of Indonesia, each has a significant amount of Indonesian
experience. The Republic of Indonesia is a country that follows constitutional
democracy. In this system, the power is with the people, but it is exercised within the
boundaries of the law. Democracy and the rule of law go hand in hand and don't
override each other.
Ganjar Pranowo is often seen by the public as a presidential candidate who is close
to the people, continues President Joko Widodo's policies, and follows a nationalist
ideology. Prabowo Subianto is widely perceived by the public as a strong and firm
leader. Although not as strong as Ganjar Pranowo, Prabowo is also seen as
someone who will continue President Jokowi's policies and follows a nationalist
ideology. Anies Baswedan is widely seen by the public as a presidential candidate
who will bring changes to President Jokowi's policies and follows an Islamic ideology.
In terms of leadership style, Anies Baswedan doesn't have a clear image, whether as
a strong leader or one who is close to the people.
it can be concluded that each presidential candidate has their own image that can
support their chances of winning. I believe that the presidential election in 2024 is a
very crucial one for Indonesia because the country needs the best leader for its
future. And Lately, there have been many issues circulating about Indonesian
politics, such as the Jokowi vs. Megawati issue. These political issues and problems
will influence the people's perspective when it comes to choosing the next president.
In the 2024 election, the younger generation will be quite significant. Gen Z, a
demographic generally regarded as politically inactive in Indonesian society, will
have its first chance to vote in an election in 2024. Political parties frequently view
young voters as a group with a vested interest, rather than as something to be
acquired, according to researcher Aisah Putri Budiarti of the Center for Political
Research of the National Research and Innovation Agency. because they are less
nationalistic and interested with political advancement than earlier generations,
young Indonesians are less susceptible to being swayed by their families'
endorsements of particular politicians. Due of the large number of voters, various
political parties and possible candidates have started adopting social media
strategies to draw attention from young voters. Notwithstanding, given that all
elections are scheduled at the same time in 2024, there is a chance of discord and
societal division in the run-up to the polls. Election security talks are therefore
becoming more and more crucial.
