Play script

SCENE 1
Narrator -Good Morning, ladies and Gentlemen, boys and girls. How do you do?Today
we are going to tell you the story of Sleeping Beauty. this story is a classic,
which means that it has been told over and over again in many Countries and in
many different languages

Narrat 3 =--- like many stories, this one begins with the words- once upon a time
there was a small And quiet kingdom called Pharoffland. King Stephan was the ruler
of Pharoffland. And he and his wife, queen Eleanor, the elegant ruled very wisely
indeed.

*They enter

Narrat - the kingdom was a prosperous and a peaceful land. However, the king and
queen had been without children for a long time and one day their wish was
granted. And one day the princess was born. They called her Aurora. They named her
after the dawn for she filled their lives with sunshine. and our story begins on
that most joyful day.

Queen - oh, king Stephan. How beautiful our princess is. my lovely daughter

King - today is the party celebrating the birth of the princess. Everyone is
invited to our celebration

Queen -- dear fairies, please give the princess the blessing

*Fairy 1 walks forward*

Fairy 1: to the beautiful princess.

*Fairy 2 walks forward*

Fairy 2: * bows down* from us fairies....

*Fairy 3 walks forward*

Fairy 3:*bows down* we present her a gift...

Fairy 1: From me, a beauty matching a brilliant rainbow...

*Fairy waves wand at high*

Fairy 2: tiny princess From me a singing voice as good as any bird

*Fairy waves wand at high*

Fairy 3: And for me...

* Witch evil laugh*

Witch: My, what a party we have today! But it seems I didn't receive the
invitation!

Fairy 1: Who would invite a wicked witch like you!?

* Witch comes forward*

Witch: A wicked Witch? I wonder who you mean by that...

Queen: L..I apologize. I had heard that you disliked noisy gatherings...
Witch: Yes, Yes, I hate noisy gatherings...*Gets angry *But I hate being more
ignored even more than that!

Witch: *Looks at King and Queen* Now... listen well, all of you. I shall give a
blessing to the princess as well... The princess will live a happy life with her
beauty, pride, and kindness...and loved by The people of her kingdom… But on her
16th Birthday, She will be pricked by a needle on a spinner...

Witch: *shouts*....AND SHE WILL DIE!!

King- cease that creature

*Evil laughs while exiting the stage*

*Queen kneels down*

*Fairies come near the King and Queen*

Fairy 2 : H-how horrible!

King: *looks at Fairies* is there any way to lift the witch/wizard's curse?

Fairy 3 tako: I still have my gift yet.

Queen - then you can undo that terrible curse

*Fairy waves wand at high*

Fairy 3: The curse is too powerful to lift, and the princess will prick her finger
on a needle from the spinner on her 16th birthday. However, she will not die...she
will just f all asleep. The princess will awaken by someone who truly loves her
and who has enough power to break Witch's evil powers....

SCENE 2

Narrat : Hearing the witch's curse, the king called out to burn every spinner in
the kingdom. All of the countrymen followed his call, and all spinners disappeared
from this kingdom.

Narrat -16 years has passed since then. the princess grew up to become very
beautiful.

*Play once upon a dream*

Princess- sings a song and speaks to the birds

My dear fairies never want me to meet someone. But you know

something? I have met someone

Birds- who? Who?

Princess- oh, a prince. Well, he is tall and handsome and so romantic. Oh, we
walked together and talked together, and just before we say goodbye, he takes me
in his arms, and then... I wake up... Yes, it's only in my dreams. But they say if
you dream a thing more than once, it's sure to come true. And I have seen him so
many times

*Princess starts singing once upon a dream*

While on the other side of the forest, a There’s a prince trying to take a rest
after his expeditions outside his kingdom. The Prince is well known for his very
polite and decent character.

Prince- *hears the princess singing from afar* what is it. Come on and let's find
out

Prince- you know Samson. There was something strange about that voice. Too
beautiful to be real. Maybe it was a mysterious being, a wood sprite....There,
stop!

*Prince is hidden behind the tree. As he watches the princess sing and dance along
to the song*

Princess- oh! Oh! (she tries to run but prince holds her)

Prince= I am awfully sorry. I didn’t mean to frighten you

Princess- oh, it wasn’t that. It's just that you're a... a...

Prince- a stranger?

Don’t you remember we've met before

Princess- before?

Prince- Why of course, You’ve said it yourself. Once upon a dream!

*Prince starts singing once upon a dream*

*Song ends*

Prince- who are you, what's your name?

Princess = it’s....oh, no... no, I can’t. I ..... good bye?

Prince- but, when will I see you again?

Princess — oh, never, never

Prince- never?

Princess — well, maybe some day

Prince — when, tomorrow?

Princess = oh, no this evening

Prince = where?

Princess — at the castle.....bye

*She runs . he goes too*

*Princess enters house*

Princess - flora, Fiona, merryweather, where are you?

Fairies - a surprise, a surprise, happy birthday

Princess = oh, this is the happiest day of my life, everything is so wonderful.

Fairy 1- you met a stranger?

Princess = oh, he isn't a stranger, we've met before

Fairy 2 - where?

Fairy 3- how?

Princess- once upon a dream (song)

Fairy 2 - she is in love - oh, no, this is terrible

Princess- why? I'm sixteen

Fairy 3 = you shouldn’t merry Prince Philip.

Princess - but, but I promised to meet him, tonight he is coming to us

Fairy 1- oh, sorry, but you should never see that young lad

Princess = oh, no, I can’t believe it (cries)

SCENE 4

Narrat - Aurora was so sad she didn't notice a wicked witch who came andbrought a
spinner

*Witch enters as a form of smoke and brings spinner. *

Aurora: My! I wonder what this is....

Witch = touch this spinner, touch I say

Fairies = don’t touch anything, don’t touch anything

Witch - you poor simple fools. Thinking you could defeat me. Me, The mistreSs of

all evil. Well, here is your precious princess.

Princess is dead.

Fairy-oh, no, I'll never forgive myself, poor king Stephan and the queen
SCENE 5

*Prince look at castle*

Prince: That must be that Mystic castle...

Fairy 1: We have been waiting for you...

Prince: WHO IS IT!? *Gets sword out... *

*Fairies appear from the left*

Fairy 2: We are Fairies; we've been waiting for a brave young lad to come to this

castle...

Prince: What!?

Fairy 3: In this castle sleeps a beautiful princess.

Fairy 1: She continues to sleep because of a curse by the wicked witch.

Prince: That is a big problem! Is there anything that I can do to help?

Fairy 2: If you truly feel you want to save the princess...

Prince: *raises sword* I have this sword, and my courage. I promise to dispel the

curse from the princess... *puts sword back*

* Witch evil laughs*

Witch: So you are here, Prince!

*Prince points sword to witch*

Prince: You must be the wicked witch who made the curse!

Witch: silence. All of you GET HIM!!

*Witch's underlings charged at Prince*

*Prince attacks underlings with one slash*

*All underlings dead on ground*

Witch — no, it cannot be! Now shall you deal with me, old prince, and all the
powers of hell!

Prince- Prepare for your demise, wicked witch!

*Witch laughs and throws the fire, prince goes back*

Fairies - let's combine our magic on the princes sword. Now sword of truth fly
swift and sure

That evil die and good endure

*Witch and Prince Fights for few minutes*

*Witch screams in agony as she falls down and dies*

*Prince enters Aurora's room*

*Comes near Aurora*

narrat- After fighting prince Philip defeated the wicked witch at last, he ran to
the princess's room to awaken her

Prince: Oh! What a Beautiful princess! Oh isn’t she the girl I met in the forest?
Yes she is

*Prince looks at back*

*Fairies appear*

Fairy 1-- The only thing that can awaken the princess...

Fairy 3:- ...Is a kiss from someone who truly loves the princess...

Fairy 2- If you truly love her, then a kiss...

SCENE 6

Narrat: Just as the prince was about to kiss the princess, he refused to do the
act given the reason that he is a respectful and polite noble prince that
wouldn’t do certain acts to people without consent.

Prince: Wait, this wouldn’t be consensual.. *walks away, leaving the princess and
the fairies who are in utter shock because of the prince’s decision*

Narrat: And because the Prince wasn’t able to break the Princess’ curse, Aurora
remained lifeless for the following years. Alone, until the time her beauty has
completely faded.

*Shows a skeleton figure of aurora*
