Experiment 02

This document provides instructions for an experiment to study NAND and NOR logic gate circuits using transistors and diodes. The experiment involves setting up the circuit diagrams provided, applying input voltages, measuring the output voltages, recording experimental data in a truth table, and analyzing the circuits' behavior to understand the purpose of the diodes based on the results. The report should include the objective, circuit diagrams, required components, experimental data, and analysis of the findings.

Required Components:
Diode IN4007 - 4 Resistor 1KΩ - 2, Trainer Board - 1
Transistor BD-135- 1 Resistor 2.2KΩ - 1 Digital Multimeter - 1
Resistor 100KΩ – 2

Procedure:
1. Set up the circuit of Fig 1 with Ra, Rb=1KΩ, and R1, R2=100KΩ, Rc=2.2KΩ. Set Vcc as 5V.
2. Apply 0V and / or 5V as input to ports Va and Vb.
3. Measure output voltage Vo and voltages at points P1, P2; and Q1 for all input combinations.
4. Set up the circuit of Fig 2 as described in step 1 and repeat steps 2 to 3.
Experimental Data

Analyze:
1. Using experimental data, analyze both the circuits with the help of truth table for positive and
negative logic.
2. Why diodes D1 and D2 are used? Explain using experimental data.

Report: Report should include the following points:

1. Objective of the experiment 4. Experimental Data
2. Circuit Diagrams 5. Analysis and discussion of the findings
3. Components required
