Hazard Identification Plan

This Hazard Identification Plan (HIP) is for the Replace Raw Water Pipeline - Abqaiq project. The project involves replacing an existing 20-inch deteriorated cement-lined carbon steel pipeline with a new 20-inch reinforced thermoplastic resin pipeline. The existing pipeline supplies groundwater from Shedgum wells to storage tanks, facilities, and communities including Abqaiq plant. The HIP will identify potential hazards associated with the project and ensure compliance with Saudi laws and Saudi Aramco safety requirements. It covers topics such as site preparation, equipment mobilization, right of way construction, and more. The HIP provides preventive measures to control hazards during construction activities.

1. INTRODUCTION

The purpose of the proposed facilities is to replace the existing deteriorated 20-inch raw water pipeline between
Shedgum water wells and Abqaiq plant to ensure reliable water supply.

Implementation of the project will meet the organizational business objective of operational continuity and
reliability by replacing existing pipelines with a new non-metallic RTR pipeline.

Based on a condition assessment performed by SA/CR Community Services Department and North Ghawar
Inspection Department, the existing 20-inch cement-lined carbon steel pipeline, constructed in 1950s, is
determined unreliable.

The existing 20-inch pipeline is currently supplying ground water from Shedgum 7 wells to the locations that
are listed in Table-1 Locations below:

No. Location

1 Shedgum Storage tanks

2 Shedgum GOSP-5

3 Shedgum Support Facilities Complex

8 Abqaiq Plant

The purpose of the facilities under this budget item is to Maintain Integrity. The new pipeline will ensure a
reliable raw water supply to Abqaiq Plants, Abqaiq Community, and other industrial facilities. This budget
item shall install a new pipeline to replace the existing, deteriorated,20-inch cement-lined carbon steel
pipeline with 20” RTR Pipeline.

This Hazard Identification Plan shall comply with the provisions of the:

a. Saudi Arabian Laws and Regulations.

3. OBJECTIVES, SCOPE AND ABBREVIATIONS

3.1 Objective

This Hazard Identification Plan (HIP) is drafted in accordance with the requirements specified in Saudi
Aramco CSM to give instruction and information to all employees for taking effective safety controls and
precautions to mitigate hazards. It outlines all tasks/activities associated with the CONTRACTOR contracted
work, potential hazards of each activity and control measures to mitigate these hazards. It identifies all
potential hazards associated with the work to be performed.

The HIP will be implemented by the AL ESSA with periodic monitoring and reporting by the COMPANY and
appointed representatives. CONTRACTOR is responsible for the safety management of all activities and
identifies specific hazards arising out of the nature of the works to be carried out on the Project.

3.2 Scope

The HIP is applicable to all construction activities undertaken as part of the Replace Raw Water Pipeline
