Rev. 01 HAZARD IDENTIFICATION PLAN Page 3 of 88
1. INTRODUCTION
The purpose of the proposed facilities is to replace the existing deteriorated 20-inch raw water pipeline between
Shedgum water wells and Abqaiq plant to ensure reliable water supply.
Implementation of the project will meet the organizational business objective of operational continuity and
reliability by replacing existing pipelines with a new non-metallic RTR pipeline.
Based on a condition assessment performed by SA/CR Community Services Department and North Ghawar
Inspection Department, the existing 20-inch cement-lined carbon steel pipeline, constructed in 1950s, is
determined unreliable.
The existing 20-inch pipeline is currently supplying ground water from Shedgum 7 wells to the locations that
are listed in Table-1 Locations below:
No. Location
2 Shedgum GOSP-5
6 Abqaiq GOSP-5
7 Abqaiq Community
8 Abqaiq Plant
The purpose of the facilities under this budget item is to Maintain Integrity. The new pipeline will ensure a
reliable raw water supply to Abqaiq Plants, Abqaiq Community, and other industrial facilities. This budget
item shall install a new pipeline to replace the existing, deteriorated,20-inch cement-lined carbon steel
pipeline with 20” RTR Pipeline.
This Hazard Identification Plan shall comply with the provisions of the:
b. Saudi Aramco Construction Safety Manual and Health Specification and Regulations.
c. Schedule “D”, “B” of the Contract and related requirements, specifications and standards.
