JOB ANALYSIS
The practice of identifying and reporting relevant data on the characteristics of a particular work
is known as job analysis. It is the process of identifying the duties that make up the job as well as
the knowledge, skills, and responsibilities that the holder must possess in order to successfully
complete the work. Studying and gathering data about the duties and activities of a particular job
is known as job analysis.
After the data has been gathered and examined, it is simple to determine the specifics of the type
of work environment and personnel characteristics.
Job analysis identifies the roles that employees hold inside the company as well as the behaviour
required to carry them out.
The process of exploring, analyzing, and documenting a job's obligations, duties, skills,
accountabilities, working conditions, and skill needs is known as job analysis. Determining the
proportional significance of a job's obligations, responsibilities, and technical and soft abilities is
another aspect of it.
❖ 9 main purposes of job analysis
1. Human resource planning
2. Work simplification
3. Setting up of standards.
4. Support for personnel activities
5. Job description
6. Job specification
7. Job classification system
8. Job evaluation and compensation
9. Organizational structure and design
1.Human resource planning
The basis for estimating the requirement for human resources and developing plans for initiatives
like training, transfer, or promotion is job analysis.
2.Work simplification
To improve productivity or job performance, work simplification involves breaking the task up
into smaller components, such as distinct product lines or process processes.
3.Setting up of standards.
Standard refers to the bare minimum of acceptable attributes, outcomes, output, or compensation
for a given position. Each standard can be developed utilizing the information provided by job
analysis, which offers details about the work.
4.Support for personnel activities
Recruitment, selection, placement, training and development, pay administration, performance
evaluation, and other personnel operations are supported by job analysis.
5.Job description
A job description is a profile that outlines the duties, responsibilities, and working conditions of a
given position. It is created using information gathered from job analyses. It offers details about
the tasks and responsibilities involved in a job.
6.Job specification
Creating a work specification is another important goal of job analysis. It contains details on the
knowledge and skills needed to do a certain task. It outlines the minimal requirements that an
incumbent must meet in order to successfully carry out the assigned duty. The job specification
statement lists the competencies—knowhow, skills, and abilities—necessary to carry out that
assignment successfully.
7.Job classification system
The classification of jobs frequently depends on selection, training, and compensation structures.
It is impossible to accurately ascertain the relationships between positions in an organization
without job analysis information.
8.Job evaluation and compensation
The information needed to assess the value of occupations is also provided by job analysis. It aids
in comparing actual performance to the predefined standard after creating the job description and
work specification statements. Next, the deviation that occurred during the action is discovered, if
any.
9.Organizational Structure and design
Because it gives you a comprehensive understanding of each job or role and how it contributes to
your organizational objectives, job analysis is a crucial component of organizational design. You
can find out what needs to be done in terms of tasks and activities, knowledge, skills, abilities, and
competences, as well as the connections and interactions with other jobs and stakeholders, by
doing a job analysis.

My dream workplace would be one in which I could provide a team with less supervision and
services and skills that would suit their demands. I also like working in a team atmosphere where
I can be creative in how I approach my work. Going by what I've been informed, I'm excited to do
that. Companies that I've found to be very supportive and productive also have tremendous
collaboration between department managers and their staff.
A position where I can be open and honest with management and my coworkers would be my
dream job, if I had to pick. For me, communication is essential because it helps me gain the trust
of the people I routinely collaborate with. Everyone can perform their responsibilities accurately
and quickly when there is excellent communication, whether it is regarding regulations and
procedures, who to contact for information, or other matters. Assuming accountability for my
responsibilities and collaborating with others on my job, in my experience, helps guarantee that I
didn't overlook anything or misread the assignment.
According to my offering I would like to claim certain benefits, such as holidays, medical
equipment, and festival bonuses. When it comes to pay, I will accept an offer based on my
qualifications, expertise, and most importantly my services.
Conclusion:
To sum up, job analysis is an essential procedure that offers insightful knowledge about the
different aspects of a work. Organizations may make well-informed decisions about hiring,
training, performance reviews, and career development by having a clear grasp of the duties,
responsibilities, and skills involved in a certain function.
By spotting possible risks and creating suitable safety procedures, job analysis also contributes
significantly to workplace safety. By matching organizational aims and objectives with people
resources, it facilitates efficient manpower planning.
