A village is smaller than a town. It's usually a quiet place with a small community of

people. We rarely find tap water and electricity there. People get drinking water from a
well or stream.

In a village, you can see a market where people sell various foods such as corn, cassava,
palm oil, fish, groundnuts, yams and beans.

Villagers are often farmers, hunters, fishermen, blacksmiths or traditional doctors.

They live in thatched houses. Blacksmiths make hoes and machetes. Hunters hunt in
forests with guns, or traditional spears or arrows.

Farmers use tools such as hoes and machetes. They keep crops in barns built on the
farm. They sometimes protect their crops with scarecrows.

Young village children go to school, hunt, clean and get water.
