Text : My village
My village is Ouinha. It is a quiet and attractive place near the river where children usually
ri
swim and women use this water for cooking. We never get tap water.
In my village there are farmers, fishermen, hunters and traditional doctors and there are teachers
or
for the primary schools and secondary school. During the rainy season farmers grow cassava, maize,
groundnuts, beans and tomatoes. Fishermen catch a lot of fish with the fishing nets. They sell their
tc

products in the small market of the village. My father is a hunter. He hunts animals with guns, spears,
bows and arrows in the forest. My mother often cooks dinner with meat. We eat natural food and we
listen to grandmother’s stories at the village place. At night we sleep early because there is no
se

electricity.
