AP Outline Rubric

AP World History Outline Rubric

Category Readability 5
The overall appearance of the outline is pleasing and easy to read. Handwriting is such that the readability level is very high. Items are in color, underlined, high lighted and well presented. Facts were accurate for all events reported in the outline. Facts were also plentiful, details were listed. Names, dates and places were nicely placed throughout the outline. Outline was complete with headings and subtitles. The outline was set up just as the text allowed it to be. Subtitles determined the breakdown of the outline The outline has clearly defined categories in terms of the text through identification or colors, or large capital letters with a minimum of 20 items categorized. Vocabulary terms are readily identifiable and have complete and clear definitions with examples included. This can be separate or within the text of the outline itself.

The overall appearance of the outline is somewhat pleasing and easy to read. Handwriting might seem rushed, and the outline seems well done, but not quite worth four points. Facts were accurate for almost all (~ 90%) events reported in the outline. Most facts were listed but some names or places that were essential were left out. Outline was almost complete with some headings and some subtitles. Some of the subtitles were omitted, or some areas were skipped.

The outline is relatively readable, but items have been changed, crossed out or the handwriting is rushed. It was somewhat difficult to read and seems to have completed during lunch. Facts were accurate for most (~75%) of the events reported in the outline. The inclusion of the content or facts can be improved.

The outline is difficult to read, plain and simple. No time was taken to turn in an assignment that was pleasing to the reader.

Facts were often inaccurate for events reported in the outline. This outline was done in a hurry and can be greatly improved by adding more content.

The outline has few events identified in categories in terms of the text through identification or colors. Categorization was attempted but not completed. Vocabulary terms are scattered and are incomplete and without clear definitions with very few examples included.

Vocabulary terms are not included or addressed as a separate item in the outline.
