What is CSO:
CSO basically stands for the Civil Society Organization, any volunteer, non-profit
group of citizens organised at the municipal, state, or federal levels is known as a
civil society organisation (CSO) or non-governmental organisation (NGO).
Role of CSOs:
Advocating against inadequacies in government, for the interests and priorities of
their constituency (particularly marginalized people), and for human rights.
Supporting social innovation and helping to mediate and resolve disputes.
Influencing legislation and advocating for reforms.
Civil Societies Serving in Pakistan,
Southern Punjab Basic Urban Services Project:
The goal of the project was to upgrade solid waste management, the road network,
water supply and sanitary facilities, and the general quality of life for low-income
people in 21 towns. CSOs have been implemented the section on involvement and
community development.
Pakistan Reproductive Health Network:
In order to bring together health campaigners, the Pakistan Reproductive Health
Network was founded in 1995, concerns pertaining to sexuality, gender, and
reproduction health for a more comprehensive strategy for women's wellness.
There are 260 users on the network, including 130 of them are businesses. The
network functions to construct the ability of its members and in the advocacy of
reproductive health. Members of the network include NGOs, CBOs, government
agencies and representatives, women's both individuals and groups, as well as
experts and consultants with a focus on topics related to reproductive health.
Aurat Foundation:
It was founded in 1986, with it’s basic headquarter in Islamabad. It’s basic duty
and aim is to stand for the women rights in Pakistan. Specially to stand against the
tortures and issues that the most women of Pakistan face in the rural as well as in
the urban areas.
Ansar Burney Trust:
The trust has given safeguarding human sovereignty great consideration ever since
the 1980s. The organisation is constantly at the forefront of speaking out against
any violation of human rights and places a high emphasis on protecting human
rights.
Al-Khidmat Foundation:
Since its founding in 1980, the organization has offered aid in the form of ration
packs, emergency preparedness, ambulance services, and orphan care. Over two
million people have benefited from their services
Saylani Welfare Trust:
Saylani Trust has been operational since 1999; since then, the organization has
provided relief to thousands of people through its services. The trust has an active
dastarkhwan campaign as well as an RO plant installation campaign to provide the
most basic necessity to the needy. Their education services provide education
facilities to 180,000 students annually.
Conclusion:
Pakistanis are incredibly proud of their connections and nationality. Pakistan is
home to a wide range of CSOs whose mission is to assist and enhance the standard
of living for their fellow residents because of the country's strong social ties.
The fact that such CSOs exist demonstrates Pakistan's honesty and respect-based
society. These CSOs have demonstrated time and again that they are capable of
offering assistance and support in times of need. We should constantly be on the
lookout for ways to support and assist these groups as responsible members of the
community.
