 PALMTOPS/PDAs
CONTENT OF DESKTOP COMPUTER
LESSON A personal computer designed for regular use at a single location
on or near a desk or table.
 has a case that houses the power supply, motherboard with a
microprocessor, memory, bus, and disk storage
 Uses a keyboard and mouse for input; and a computer
monitor, and a printer for output.
 The case may be oriented horizontally and placed on top of a
desk or vertically and placed underneath or beside a desk.

LAPTOP COMPUTER
A small, portable personal computer with a keyboard at the lower
part and a thin computer screen on the upper portion, which is
opened up to use the computer.
 Laptops are folded shut for transportation, and thus are
suitable for mobile use.
 A laptop combines the components, inputs, outputs, and
capabilities of a desktop computer, into a single unit.
 Laptops can be powered either from an internal battery or by
an external power supply from an AC adapter.

PALMTOP/HANDHELD COMPUTER
A pocket calculator-sized, battery-powered PC with integrated
keyboard and display.
 Handheld PCs were discontinued in the early 2010s as the
market shifted to smartphones and tablets
