INTRODUCTION
This project aims to familiarize MBA candidates with the industry and area of expertise. The project
allows the opportunity to address problems or opportunities in various facets of industry domains
as well as fields of interest (Finance, Marketing, etc.).
EXPECTATIONS
Candidates will be expected to use data to identify the problems, trends, and patterns in their area
of interest. The process of identifying patterns or trends would be primarily based on the use and
analytics of data using various tools and techniques discussed in the class. The candidates should be
able to explain the significant changes in their data. Candidates may use other techniques (subject
to approval).
Part 1: Introduction
1. Introduction
Discuss the background of the analysis/research.
Explain the relevance to the industry or company used in the analysis in conjunction
with the current business environment.
In a paragraph explain the purpose of the research and the relevance of the problem
to the current business environment.
2. Scope and Objectives (deliverables)
Scope: Clarify the scope of the analysis or research
Objectives: Clearly state the objective (like a research statement)
Part 3: Methodology
1. Data
Discuss the data collected.
There must be at least 15 observations.
Explain how it relates to the research/analysis.
Mention the time frames and sources of the data.
2. Tools/Analytics
Mentions the tools and techniques used to analyze the data.
Explain how it addresses the analysis or research.
Part 4: Analysis
Align this section with 3.2 and explain how the data was analyzed.
Note changes in tools or methodology (if any)
1. Analysis
Elaborate on the results found in 4.1 and explain how it addresses the objectives.
Explain how the results are in conjunction with section 2.0
Graphs and explanation
Part 5: Conclusion
Use sections 2, 3, and 4 and provide conclusive remarks.
Provide a solution to the problem along with some empirical evidence

Team Presentation Deadline: 10am Sunday, September 10 th, 2023 – During the Class
Presentation Format: Max 10 PowerPoint Slides per person, 30 minutes presentation for
each Team.
Team deck of Slides MUST be uploaded to MS Teams before 10am on Sunday 10
September by the Team Lead.
A dry rehearsal of the presentation is recommended for each Team.
Team Report Deadline: Sunday, September 10th, 2023 – End of the Class 12 noon
submitted to Course Shell.
Read the Assessment Rubrics carefully and address all the points mentioned in your OWN
words.
10% delayed submission penalty
Max 30 pages to the PDF file for Team Report. Expect to include all the parts with
appropriate Visualization. Team Leads must indicate the portions of the assignment and
which team member has contributed for each part I – 5 of the assignment.
10% of the final mark will be assigned to individual presentation and individual
understanding of the data, visualization, analysis, and storytelling.
10% of the final mark will be assigned to the report preparation and explanations of the
data behaviour & forecasts with tools & methodology applied in the analysis.
Explanations or claims made without hypothesis testing or statistical analysis will NOT
receive good marks.
Assignment Rubric:
Succinctly states the purpose of the research and its relevance in a separate paragraph (3 points)
Uses more than 3 reputed media articles/opinions related to the topic (10 points)
Articles/opinions are analyzed cohesively and connections are made between them and the
research/analysis (10 points)
Provides a thorough discussion of the data collected, including the number of observations,
timeframe, and data sources (5 points)
Discusses the tools and techniques used to analyze the data (5 points)
The results are tied back to the objectives and section 2.0 (5 points)
Provides clear and informative graphs along with detailed explanations (5 points)
Proposes a well-reasoned solution to the problem with empirical evidence to support it (8 points)
Writes with clarity, using appropriate academic language and style, and with minimal errors (5
points)
Any project scoring below 60 points may need significant improvements or revisions. Projects
scoring between 60 and 79 points meet the minimum requirements but could be improved in one
or more areas. Projects scoring 80 points or more have exceeded the expectations and have
demonstrated a high level of understanding and execution.
