Program Title: 2-DAY WRITESHOP ON THE ENHANCEMENT OF SCHOOL

Summary: Many years passed, people learned that disaster can be prevented with proper
knowledge and preparation. This concept gave rise to Disaster Risk Reduction
Management but unfortunately, life-threatening accidents arising from untoward
incidents are as common now happening .Contingency planning is a management
process that analyses specific potential events or emerging situations that might
threaten society or the environment and establishes arrangements in advance to
enable timely, effective and appropriate responses to such events and situations.

In connection with this, LINAO PS Teaching Force together with the School Head
gathered for a 2-Day Writeshop on the Enhancement of School Contingency Plan last
December 7-8 , 2023 at Linao Prmtary School . It is therefore necessary for the school
with the support of stakeholders to create, enhance and maintain a mechanism for
anticipating, preparing for and responding to the impacts of hazards.

On the first day of the activity, the speaker introduce about the contents of the
Contingency Plan,and its Rationale and its purpose for us to be able to understand the
legal basis of DRRM and to ensure that school personnel know what to do when
disaster strikes, and have the systems and tools to respond fast.

The second day of the activity was the Workshop on the Enhancement of the
School Contingency Plan and presentation of ouputs. We were divided into groups for
us to make a revision of the contingency plan. Each group had a brainstorming on how
to enhance the School Contingency Plan with the help and guidance of the facilitator.
This 2-Day Writeshop on the Enhancement of Contingency Plan is of great help to
the teaching staff for them to be able to respond immediately during hazards.
Objective: The activity aims to:
1. Ensure that school personnel know what to do when disaster strikes, and have the
systems and tools to respond fast; and
2. Review and enhance the school DRRM Contingency Plan

Key results: 100% cooperation of the trainees.
